On April 1st 2010: So last week I had a scratchy throat for a few days & gradually got symptoms of a cold(fever 98.9-99.1),chills,runny/stuffy nose, and some lupus symptoms aggrivated by it as well, butterfly rash,aching/burning in legs & lower back.
That said,it lasted from sunday to sunday..went away monday-tuesday and then last night I started gettin the scratchy throat again w/a rash which was worse this morning upon waking(even though my window was covered all night to block the sun) I have had a fever again from 98.7-99.4.

Anybody have a take on what it could be??

April 3rd 2010: I am still having sinus pressure/ache/drainage, runny/stuffy nose but my throat feels better. Unfortunately it has made my lupus flare up even more! I was hurting/aching so bad in my legs last night that my feet even ached. I got a shower and even had burning pain down the top part of my spine in my neck. ehh I ache today and have another rash but I guess it could be worse. Also having low blood sugars now regularly. Joy.

Hi Britt,

I just got over a 7 week bout of bronchitis.... I swear, I thought it was going to last forever. Turned out to be a nasty virus that my body had trouble defeating. Due to our suppressed immune systems, we'll have a harder time fighting these things off. My lupus also flared up during this.

Make sure you see your doctor and make sure your lungs are okay. A chest xray might be a good thing to get.

Hope you get better soon!

Joy, you have symptoms that could indicate a sinus infection. When you have lupus, you should call your doctor when you get sick. I'd also highly recommend that you purchase a neti pot and use it every day. My PCP insists on it. It flushes your sinuses and helps prevent a lot of sinus problems.

Hope you feel better.

I think I have heard of a neti pot but what is it and where do you get them?

I've bought mine at CVS, but I'm sure you can find them at Walgreens.

Here is a site that includes other brands at the top of the page. It looks like a tea pot and comes with 50 prepackaged packs of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate mixture that you add to the neti pot along with warm water. Then you lean over the sink, turn your head to the left and place the nozzle or spout in your left nostril and let the water flow through your sinuses. You do that with half the water and then switch to the other nostril, turning your head to the right.

I even travel with mine. My hubby uses his in the shower, I use mine in the sink.
