Hello, I have been on the forum before quite a while ago.  Was diagnosed with MCTD about 2 years ago.  I have aquired since then an area on my scalp of some sort of exema, or phsorisous (I am horrible at the spelling of this stuff) that won't go away, I have a rash that comes and goes on my neck, arms and sometimes other areas but mostly on arms.  The rash on my neck and arms do not itch but are under the skin not really raised but looks bad. Also, the top of my hands get itchy and red, along the sides by my pinkie fingers and along the pointer finger and knuckles.  Always seems when I get it, it is on both sides not just one.    Has anyone else had something like this?  I have been to the derm. and he says possibly dermititus?  But didn't sound convincing. I cannot figure out what triggers it. I wash with Dove with nothing in it. I wash with Dreft only.  Just wondering if I should chalk it up to just something else that goes along with the diseasesad

Yes!  Psoriasis is one of my symptoms.  Many lupus/MCTD patients have skin disorders.  There's even a specific AI disease called psoriatic arthritis.  I had to add a dermatologist to my growing contingent of doctors.  He's wonderful.  Takes me seriously. He prescribes a steroid foam to put on my scalp and a steroid cream to put on the psoriasis patches everywhere else.  I have them on my arms, back, legs, between my fingers, and as of this morning, one on the top of my foot.

If you are on prednisone, it helps tremendously.  I've been tapering off of the pred and many of my symptoms, including a large increase in psoriasis, have come back with a vengeance.  While on the pred, I had only a tiny patch of it on my scalp.

I hope you get some cream or foam soon.

Thanks for the reply.  I guess I thought that since it did not have scaley or raised bumps that it could not be psoriasis.  I do have a dermatologist and he gave me the cream for my body and a liquid for the scalp.  The rash is only on mostly my biceps and hands.  Some on the upper part of my legs.  Does not itch much just ugly.  It seems every time I turn around I have something else that goes with this thing. I also have multiple docs added to my list.  Before this I never had a thing wrong.  Not even many colds.  It's not that I have anything major wrong just little irritating things.  I still have pain on deep breaths from the phlericy(spelling?) that I had with my first flare, they say it is probably scar tissue but it is bothersome.  I guess I don't understand the itching on my hands. It is different from the rashes on my arms and legs.  Thanks again for the reply.  Good Luck
