of Liver I'm gonna puke! My homocysteine levels are to low, my hemocrits are to low, my b12 is to low my protein is to low. All I want to eat is all of the stuff I can't have! I want a pizza with everything on it. I want chocolate cake, ice cream, peanuts, I want to drink a gallon of coke. Oh and a baked potato with bacon bits and sour creams and cheese.
I look in my fridge all I got is a ton of fruit and vegetables and chicken and fish! oh yeah and sweet potatoes.
The only sweet stuff I got is 2 cake mixes and frosting that is for the senior citizens meal. I am this close to tearing open the "deep choclate fudge frosting" turn

Carol, visualize yourself after a few months of this. You're going to be a skinny minnie...just a shadow of yourself. And you're going to feel better. That said, I know how hard it is because I struggle with the same thing. I have such a sweet tooth! OMG. But you can do it. And you're doing it the right way...by not having any junk in your house. Good for you. Rant away girl.

Hey Carol. I've been dieting too and gave all my junk to my daughter. I lost 10 lbs and gained back 3, but I'm still trying.
Something to consider: if you put the frosting can in the fridge overnight it gets the consistancy of fudge. smilewinkgrin Love ya!

Hi! All,

Please oh please oh please don't lose any more weight! Cause I find it and it relocates to MY butt. Alright, I will try not to look! There is comfort to know so many of us are in the same boat..... How would I eat an elephant? Let me count the ways... with strawberry icing, (the berries make it count as a fruit), whipped cream, (that's dairy for the protein), with almonds, (and we know how good NUTS are for us), and an icy cold beer (which counts as a vetetable cause it's grain and barley and hops, and if that's the case..... WE SHOULD ALL HAVE 2!!

But I am trying to slowly do better, to eat and cook better. I am using the new albino white whole wheat flour, you can even find it at Walmart now, veggies and fruit in season, splenda in my Georgia sweet tea, and one sandwich instead of two, and I am having good success with portioning out snacks in those nifty little ziplock snack sized baggies. If I count out 5 for my lunches, and 27 nuts are a serving, if I take the baggie instead of the can, I only eat one serving instead of 10! Salt is my down fall, and I puff up like a toad if I look at potato chips. What potato chips??? They were just flat potatoes, and we all know how good VEGGIES are to eat!

hugs,

suetoo

ps. speaking of lentils, I just made a wonderful little loaf of lentil bread, with whole wheat flour/unbleached white, the cooked lentils, water, yeast and a little sugar, in my bread machine on the dough cycle, then put it in my 4 mini loaves bread pan, and it was delish with strawberry preserves, toasted, and you would never know it had those funny little pea things in it. I give one loaf to my favorite mother in law, (THATs a WHOLE 'nother thread, tee hee), one to my daughter, one to the freezer and one to slice and eat for lunch. The small loaf pan makes a 4-5 inch square of bread which is a much smaller amt of carbs to eat at lunch which is what I crave... carbs.   And more carbs. Did I mention MORE Carbs?

God knows, even if I don't....

LOL that was funny Sue!

I was in the kitchen tonight cooking up some organic Millet. My dog is in there with me. He always managges to be close by while I'm cooking. I looked at him and said sorry Taco this is not dog food it's bird food! Then I continued cooking it and adding water because it wasn't getting soft. after about an hour of what was only supposed to be 25 min.s I called it done. Then I got to wondering. Okay I have never had Millet before. Nor have I cooked it before. So my question is. How do I know if it taste right or not? I stuck it in the fridge and will let it cool til morning. Then i have some strawberries in the freezer. I thought I would throw a little millet and strawberry in the blender and see how it tastes. I want to turn so raw millet into flour and see if I can make bread from it. I don't have a bread maker though. I figured I couldn't eat bread so why bother. But if I can eat millet bread that helps burn fat it would be worth the money. I am feeling some energy tonight for the first time in some time. I am not sure if it is 2 weeks of eating fairly healthy. (with 1 pizza mishap). or if it's the b12 shots the doc. put me on.

well ok now I'm rambling again

what out for them elephants!

Sue, I moved to Atlanta almost 8 years ago and became addicted to sweet tea instantly. So now I try to put splenda in my Georgia sweet tea, but I sure miss the real thing.  I'll also mention carbs are the most wonderful food group I know, but I also have a sweet tooth- well make that sweet teeth. The little baggies sound like a good idea. I'm sure I could put at least 8 oz of chocolate per bag.

Carol, for 10 years fish was the only meat I ate. I cooked daily and acquired several vegetarian cook books. One of my favorites was lentil burgers. Cooked lentils with oatmeal to hold them together and spices. Fried like a hamburger. BTW I also was a runner for 20 years. This morning I weighed 229. What the #@^* happened?!!! Oh. Wait. No exercise and lots of food. Doh!

Good morning,
Yesterday was spring in NY, today it's Nov. I love to make bread, with or without a machine. One thing thats nice in lieu of a machine is a very large bowl for dough. Kneading is very therapeutic. Stir with spoon till dough pulls away from sides of bowl, adding flour in small amts, then sticking your hand in to fold it toward you, push over and away from you, rt. there in the bowl. When it gets satiny and smooth, you know you have pummeled it enough. And there are lots of recipes for gluten free breads, oatmeal breads, rice breads, and muffins and cakes that don't need wheat flour. Forgive me, I am simply going to HAVE to refrain from forced teachable moments. I am retiring to apply for permanent disability in June, and besides you guys, food and sleep are my major comforts. Increased prednisone is not my drug of choice... LEGAL cannibis anyone????? :-) And pizza can be built on any kind of dough. Hey, I could eat a paper plate with enough toppings on it! The clue to soggy free pizza dough is pre-baking it in a very hot oven for 4 or 5 minutes before you put your toppings on it. How would millet taste on pizza?
suetoo ps. my daugher lives in Valdosta and I love Atlanta's skyline. Was there last week and enjoyed the pine pollen immensely.

well headed for the show my head itches for some reason hopefully a good shampoo and conditioner will help. Who know?????
