I saw my orthopedic surgeon yesterday and found out why my foot still hurts four months after surgery. Seems that one of the screws is broken because the bone didn't fuse. And I have another neuroma. Blaaaaat. With the planning for my daughter's wedding the first of Sept I don't want to take the time to have surgery again. And what if it doesn't fuse again this time. I'm going in tomorrow for a scan of my foot so the doctor can get a better picture of it. I wonder if the effects prednisone has had on my bones has anything to do with this. I stopped taking it in December, but had taken it for 6 years.

Oh, my. That sounds awfully disappointing, Pat. I hope they can get to the bottom of it quickly and that you get "back on your feet" soon. Hobbling gets old fast, I'm sure.

(((Pat))) This is awful news! You must be in such pain. I hope the foot scan helps the docs figure out the best alternative. Love, Donna

Thanks ladies. I don't know whether or not the scan will show prednisone damage. I had a bone scan done in January and if it showed damage, no one told me about it.

How frustrating!  Keeping fingers crossed for you - hoping for a solution that doesn't involve yet more pain and hobbling.  Hang in there.

Hey Pat I forgot to ask you today have you heard anything about your x-ray or scan? Did you ask about thinning bones. I have osteoporosis and they do a scan once a year.

love ya

Carol, I have not heard from my doctor since my cat scan was taken. I have an appointment to see him next week and we'll talk about my options at that time. I also hope he'll give me an injection in my neuroma. He removed two but either missed one, or another one has appeared.

As far as smoothies, you can put anything you want in them. A little cooked millet would be great, & it would be ground up and you wouldn't know it was there. Greek yogurt is good for you but I hate the way it tastes, so I put it in my smoothies and can't tell it from "good' yogurt". I add all kinds of things to mine: ground up flax seed, a hand full of fresh spinach, and any and every kind of fruit.

I talked to my hubby about your POA and we're going to talk to your sis.

Happy and healthy eating.

Pat
