Well...long story short: I have been suffering from fatigue, joint pains, and worst of all a monster-like rash that appears on my arms and legs and sometimes my chest...for about a year and a half. I went to the dermatologist had blood work done and also a biopsy. Today I went to get my stitches out and to get results from tests. Even though the pathologist was not done with my biopsy...much less started them...he told my Dr that by just looking he doesn't believe it is lupus; rather he thinks it looks like severe eczema. Ummmmm...no, I do not think so! Stress is my trigger and I have also had, in the past month, reoccurring bladder infections that was even bothersome just yesterday. My Dr began me on steroids for a month. My symptoms, the rash, mirror discoid cutaneous lupus and just this past weekend the fatigue I experienced was crazy. Especially because I am known for my energetic spirit. I know that no two patients will have the same symptoms, with lupus...but has anyone experienced anything like this? I feel like I am going crazy!!! Ohh...I forgot to mention I am on effexor, for depression, and adderall, for focus issues. And when I have an episode of fatigue, adderall does not work. I am also trying to finish up college and I am a single mom of two children. Please, please, please if anybody has any knowledge on my crazy medical questions on my symptoms.....let me know. I would soo appreciate some type of answers.
Other symptoms I have had in the past five years:
-trouble breathing...lack of getting a full breathe
-easy bruising
-feeling like the sudafed commercial...disconnected as hell:(
-stress a definite trigger
Symptoms I do not have:
-the sun doesn't seem to bother my rash...but I do wear sunscreen everyday...

Hi hun, wow going to school and raising 2 children. That would be hard on anyone even if they are healthy. I am on effexor for depression as well.  really like it which is more then i can say for the rest of the anti depressants. Don't ya just love it when the doctors throw out opinions without even doing the tests? I mean if that was okay then why not just get out one of those little black 8 balls that say yes or no. Or my favorite is Check back later!

I can't tell you nor can anyone else here tel you what the problem is. I can tell you that you do have something going on. I don't know anything eczema butt I wouldn't think it would cause all of the other problems you listed. With the skin problem it's good you saw a derm. but for the other problems you really need to see a rheumatologist. I would recommend you call around and find one that knows about lupus and other autoimmune diseases. Some only treat things like arthritis. Also if you don't like them or they can't help you then you move on. Most of us have been to 3 or 4 different doctors before finding a good one. Then they end up moving or somthing. If you find a good one the chances are slim they will find out right away what you have. It could be months even years. The main thing is they treat your systems at this point. There are some pretty mild drugs they can give you to help with fatigue which are used for many autoimmune disease.

Please let us know what you find out. Hang in there. and welcome to the group!

Hey Medical Mystery! First off, I love your Screen Name! Their is a show on the discovery health channel called medical mystery and I love it!!!

Ok back to your questions. When I read your post the first thing I thought is...Has your Iron levels been checked? I am severly anemic and i have a ton of trouble catching my breath. Even something simple as drinking out of a straw, I will sound like I have been doing a long sprint. I also bruise very easily and have extreme fatigue due to the iron problem.

Have you started noticing any relief from the prednisone? Also, how long do you have to wait for you biopsy results???
