Does the weather affect your pain at all? I am wondering if the rise in heat and humidity here have caused me to relapse very quickly. I was doing well and then BAM. I have been indoors though. Any thoughts on weather and pain? Thanks!

For some people, the cold weather is worse. It sort of freezes up joints and increases pain. For me, though, it's the heat and humidity that's worse. I feel like everything swells more when it's hot. My uncle, who has something not lupus but sort of similar, can tell you when a storm is coming or the weather is changing based on his body.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution to any of this. Sorry!

Yea, I guess now that this pain is here to stay with me, I guess I will learn how the weather affects me. I love to swim in the summer but that is the only thing I do outside. The heat kills me and makes me feel horrible and I live in the humid south! I think I would love the climate in the dessert, cool at night and warm in the day with no humidity! I am just hoping the cymbalta and plaquenil work soon! I couldn't sleep well last night from the aches and pains but fell asleep before I took any meds, so that was good. I woke up feeling ok so hopefully I will have a day without pain today, but the day is still young. Yesterday, it didn't hit until later in the day.

the weather really does a number on me too. It was August-like this past weekend here in MD and I was sick after 10 minutes in the heat and 82% humidity. Yuck.
