So today, I participated in this fundraiser...St Baldrick's. Its a fundraiser where you shave your head for children with cancer. As a cancer patient myself, I kept being heartbroken for the kids. Chemo is awful! Anyhow, I shave my head, and I put my wig on. Jump in the car with my mom and my lil one.  As we stop for gas, I see 2 cops doing the unevitable thing they are famous for.... eating donuts and  drinking coffee! So I'm looking at my mom with a wicked grin and she says "Baby you better not get me a ticket" I quipped "They cant give a ticket for people pulling their hair out.." I let the cops look at me, then I reached up and plucked the wig off my head. One cop spilled his coffee! The other was staring like, "Did that lady just take her hair off?" They were too shocked to come over...

So thats how we do it, scare cops and get away with it. I kind of like being bald now LOL!

That's funny, Desiree. My husband has been shaving his head at our local St. Baldrick's for several years. He usually raises about a thousand dollars from friends who pledge to donate if he shaves his head. I have yet to get up the courage to do it myself. It's a wonderful way to raise money for pediatric cancer.

Oh my, this is hilarious!!

An old friend of mine shaved her head for St. Baldrick's this year, as well. I don't have that kind of courage-- I'm self-conscious enough about my random bold spots that are easily concealed!

LOL, Desiree. Sounds like you have my since of humor :)! When I lost my hair a few months ago from Cytoxan, I would do the same thing...not with cops but with other people. I found it fasinated little children and shocked other people. You should try it when you are riding in the car. you are next to someone and they look over at you and bam...rip of your wig. hehe!! The look on their face is priceless! Another good trick is to keep your wig on but move it around on your head while someone is looking! LMBO!! Sometimes peoples face expressions are so funny!

LoL-- I did it to my long time friend who is a city bus driver..Jumped on his bus and asked him if he liked my hair cut then asked him if he liked my other hair cut and he looked at me funny so I lifted the wig off my head and he goes "Oh my God. Oh my God." "what the *** did you do that for? Oh my God." The bus kept laughing at him--get a bus driver to I'm having so much fun torturing people I know. LOL!

40 years ago my father road a 3-wheeled motorcycle with us children (2) in a sidecar all over town plus everywhere else. (We were in south Florida and this was his primary mode of transportation.) The motorcycle helmet laws had just come into effect, but they did *NOT* apply to 3-wheels, only to 2-wheels. He kept getting stopped & going to court over it until finally the judge wrote him a letter to show the officers whenever he was stopped.

Somewhere in that time frame my mother had regrown hair after chemotherapy and had some old spare wigs around. My father started grabbing a wig (about 6 inches of hair, brown) to put on when he went out. (Normally <1/2 inch black hair.) He especially liked it when a cop who didn't know him stopped him and he could pull off the hair to watch the cops faces!! He could legally say it was a helmet as there were no helmet descriptions in the laws then...but he also had the judges letter as backup if the cop got mad.

We had fun back then! (And you can tell where my sense of humor came from!! lol)
