I have had this happen before but we tested my blood sugar and it was dropping down in the 30's so we chalked it up to that. Well, this past week, I have woken up everynight with a feeling of shaking uncontrolably inside my body. My hands always have a small tremor from my medicine but this is different. It is the same feeling as really low blood sugar but I checked it last night and it was 113, so deffinatly not too low. I can also relate the feeling to when you take really strong pain killers and you don't eat and you just feel all trembly inside (at least for me). Last night I did notice my pulse was 128, which normally its around 100 so not a big change but it was elevated a bit. It has started happening during the day but not often and doesnt last near as long!

Any ideas of what this could be? No changes in medicine, the only change is I started back to work last Monday after 8 weeks off...

Hey girlie girl!

I get the internal tremors fairly often. My psych doc told me it was anxiety. I doubted him at first, but now I know he was absolutely correct. It felt like low blood sugar to me as well but my numbers were always normal. For me, it's anxiety.

Not sure if it's Lupus related or not, hon.

Are you a bit anxious about getting back to work?

Also, it's very common to wake up at night with anxiety symptoms like those internal tremors. I get that too. sad

when i get the internal shakes (some drs laugh at me) i always check my BP if thats normal check my sugar level if that is normal i chalk it up to anxiety.. the internal shakes feel weird because on the outside you look fine but on the inside your shaking..very weird experience.. with your heart racing like that i would think anxiety.. because your thinking the worst and it can force yourself to feel panicky..i get this all the time but i also have antianxiety meds too...hope you get to the bottom of it..

Hey Amy,

Anxiety is the first thing that came to my mind too. Prednisone makes me feel jittery inside too. I hope you get to the bottom of this soon, I know it's a pain to deal with. Sending hugs and prayers your way!

Thanks girls!!! I will check my BP when it happens tonight and see if thats the problem. If not, I guess I will chaulk it up to anxiety. My rhuemy called and said most of my blood work is improving (except kidney's..go figure) so I know its nothing too serious. I will get my parathyroid and vit d levels on Wed. but i guess that wouldnt cause internal shakyness.

I guess I am a little anxious about everything. not quite sure why but I am even anxious about eating or something so small as feeding the cat. Who knows?? i guess maybe lupus? At least I knows its nothing too serious and not to think I am gonna have a seizure or anything in my sleep. Yeah, can you tell...I also suffer from always thinking the worse LOL!

Thanks for your responses Ginny, Amy, and Stacie :)!!!

Hi Amy,
I have the internal shakes sometimes too. It could be anxiety, I guess for me too. Sometimes my temperature drops down to 96.0 to 96.5 and I shake all over inside and out.

I hope you feel better soon. Let us know what you find out.
