The past 2 days I was having a flare up but I felt 1,000 times better today. My daughter had mowed about 3/4 of the yard and quit so I decided to finish it. When I got finished my other daughter Lexie (5) handed me a can of coke zero and as soon as I as got it in my hand, my hand starting shaking like a tremor. Lexie asked mom why is your hand shaking? I put the can in my other hand and it started shaking.

I sat on the swing for a few minutes talking to Lexie telling her I was fine I probably just got a little too hot and needed to cool down I didn't wan't to scare her but I was freaking out. I wasn't that hot. I thought it had gone away then when I came in to take my shower and I reached and got the shampoo my and hand started shaking again it took it a few minutes but finally it stopped.

Has anyone had anything like this happen?  Is it a symptom of Lupus?

It could be that you were just overtired and over-used your muscles to the point of fatigue. I used to come back from exercise class with my legs doing that. I don't know if it is a symptoms of lupus or not. I just know muscles can tremble when they are over tired. You also could have experienced a low blood sugar or dehydration.

Hi Robin, there are so many symptoms of lupus you could probably flip a coin on that one. But when I get sick (flare) my hands start to shake so bad that I have to type with 1 finger on the computer. That happened this week. I usually get the shakes when I am real fatigued from the lupus (or whatever) People ask me why are my hands shaking so bad. I really don't have an answer for them but it's been going on a few years now. I notice it in both hands but in my left the most. Perhap because I'm left handed and I tend to use it more often.
At any rate you are not alone.

When on higher doses of prednisone & either too tired or not enough food, my hands shake like crazy.

I did the same exact thing when I was newly diagnosed. I had no idea what was happening. Now it happens whenever I overdo it. I can't mow the grass anymore but even something as simple as unloading the dishwasher will exhaust me to the point of shaking like crazy. Just depends on what type of day I am having!

Lynnwood is right about the high doses of pred too!!! Except on the high dose of pred I shook all the time. Not just occasionally

I had an experience that was scary last summer...
This lady was suppose to help me move a table at my church.. She didn't show up so I moved it myself.. it was hot down in the basement and after I moved that table I couldn't write for three days.. I could pic the pencil up but my hand would not write... finally I was able to on the third day...

A lady with Raynaud's told me she does the exact same thing when she uses a lawn mower, weed eater or power tool that vibrates the same thing happens to her and when she rest it goes away. I am going to mention it to the rheumatologist when I go back on the 27th.
