I had a birthday party for my 10 year old yesterday. I live in Ohio, and it was soooo extreamly hot. I am going threw a divorce,  and I have no family so I had to do everything on my own. I rented a pavilion outside at a park type setting and over did it to the max. After spending the afternoon with ten 10 year old boys, running and screaming and playing, and setting up and tearing down for the party, I could hardly move. My feet felt like my heals were broken, every single muscle in my body hurt, my neck felt like It would snap if i didnt lean it to one side, my poor head was just pounding like crazy.
I woke this morning, and I think I atually feel WORSE. I am going to take it easy today, although I never do, I feel guilty doing nothing and letting my child see me just laying around, its bad enough he has to watch me walk with limps and moans. Today I feel depressed too, Im so tired of feeling sick and hurting.
I am 39 years old and I feel like ive aged so much this summer.
I just want answers and treatment....

Hey there Angie,
I'm sooo sorry that you are feeling so lousy.  My first question is have you been to a rhuematologist to determine a diagnosis and a treatment plan?  What meds are you currently taking for your symptoms.  It is very important that you start to get on a treatment plan to get your condition under control.  You obviously put your body through a lot of physical stress to put on the birthday party and you are paying for it dearly, but I understand that we all do that to from time to time.  Since you are also going through a divorce, I'm assuming that you are under a lot of mental stress as well.  Whether it be physical or mental stress, it definitely plays a significant role in autoimmune diseases or for that matter any medical problems.  When I was first diagnosed with lupus I realized that I had to stop doing all that I was doing and start taking care of me.  I was the person who never said no, whether it be to my family, neighbors, friends and my children's school.  I was ptso president for years, always running fundraisers, holding luncheons, having meetings, planning dances, you name it.  I also took care of many of my neighbors yards at the same time, either mowing, trimming or watering plants.  Then with what time I had left in the day I was taking care of my family's needs (2 teenage boys keep you hopping everyday).  My body just all of a sudden shut down and I was extremely ill for months.  I really didn't have much of a choice but to stop and pay attention.  I think we as women try to be superhuman and we put on the guilt feeling if we don't do it all.  In order for you to be there for your son you need to take care of you first.  I suggest you get to your rhuematologist if you have one, if not you need to go to your pcp and get the process started of getting you on a treatment plan and referred to a rheumatologist.  I hope this helps in anyway.

Hugs and Angels,
Lynnette
