hubby fired, how do I get medicare?

My dh was fired today and we will lose our health insurance at the end of the month. I need to know how to get medicare.
Dx:fibromyalgia 2002, systematic lupus 2005- definate CNS involvement dxed late 2005, psoriasis 2006, rheumatoid arthritis 2006, PTSD 2007, multiple allergies 2005, migraine, compression fractures T11 & T12, Sjögren's, damaged periphrial nerves 2007, exema
Tx: plaquenil, Enbrel, Tramadol, Singulair, Skelaxin, Baby Asprin, Imuran, Prilosec, lasix, Evoxac, Celebrex, Vicodine when things get too bad, prednisone again, various vitamin/mineral supplements, cozar, duragesic patches

You might try this government site that might help you explore your options.  Before the new healthcare bill the only way to get medicare was to turn 65 or be on disability for 2 years to get it before 65.  Not sure what you can do today.

MCTD (lupus, scleroderma, polymyositis).  Diagnosed 2005.  Kidney, liver, GI tract, dysphagia, raynauds, Barretts esophagus, quadriplegic in 2005.  Recovered and now active in skiing, tai, chi, hiking, golf.  Meds: prednisone 2.5mg, imuran 25mg, amlodipine, benazapril, omeprazole, potassium, folic acid, vitamins, maxide and various supplements and vitamins.
Remain optimistic and you can overcome the odds.

Call your local office of the county dept. of social services. Ask who to talk to and set up an appt. In ny, we have a central web site called, that is very user friendly. And call your dr, they have many ways to help but need to know, try not to despair,

CNS Lupus 2005, APS, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
Meds: Plaquenil, Neurontin, Thyroid, meloxicam, Aspirin, Atenolol and Norvasc, Prednisone 5mg daily. Vit. B12 2400 mcgs, Vit D 1000U and  Ambien every night.
