Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how long it took for Plaquenil to start working for you?
I've been on it for about a month now, and it hasn't worked for me yet, but I know that it can take up to 4 months to kick in.
Hopefully that's not the case!

Thanks! :)

Most people say about 6 months. It works over time. It's pretty suttle. One day all the sudden you will notice that your arms or legs or feet don't feel as bad as they used to. Not that it is a cure all but it usually does help. It kind of reminds me of a vitamin. You don't notice it's working until you stop taking it. Do they have you on steroids or anything? that works but it is a love hate relationship.
Hang in there I hope you feel better soon.

I am one of the lucky ones, very med tolerant, and I knew in 6 days that the plaquenil was helping alot. The same thing happened two months later with neurontin.

God knows, even if I don't....

Hi there!
My doctor put me on prednisone at the same time with plaquenil and it was within a month I started noticing it helping. He said it would help in the meantime it takes the plaquenil to get absorbed in my body. Hopefully I'll be done with the prednisone in a couple weeks as it makes me bloated. That was my rheumatologist and he has been the best. Good luck to you!
