I am 30 and have just recently had some bloodwork come back and it showed that protein were high, but then got normal, but I had a positive ANA and high smith antibodies. They were only 1.1 I dont know if that is REAL HIGH OR NOT... I have a appt with a rheumatologist to hopefully get more answers. The only symptoms I have had are chest pain for 10 years knee pain for about a year my mri was normal). and I extremely sharp pains in my shoulder that last maybe 10 sec that has been off and on for a good while also.Nothing has impaired my daily activities. I just wonder what could be the underlying issue and if this is the beginning of something bad. Thanks!!

Welcome to our forum Pookus. There are 11 criteria used to diagnose lupus. Usually if you meet 4 of the criteria you will be diagnosed with lupus.  At the top of the page you will find Lupus Resources that give the links and info you need. I hope your rheumy determines you don't have lupus. Love, Butterflake
