The weirdest thing has been happening....some skin on my hands has gotten lighter. It makes my hands look dirty elsewhere.

I think it's viglito. I heard that it can attack people with lupus.

Do any of you have this? It's so weird. confused

Yes, that does sound like vitiligo. That is common place for it to be and is as you describe. My daughter has it. You should go see a dermatologist right away. They can confirm it and help maybe slow it down a bit. Are you on plaquenil? That is supposed to help with the photosensitivity of it. Lots of sunscreen and you really need to avoid the sun. I'm sorry about that, I know it is hard on my daughter.

Yes, I've been on it for several years.
I'm already photosensitive so I know how to protect myself.
I see my rheumatologist in a couple of weeks, he can refer me to a good dermatologist.

My son is super photosensitive and has issues with losing pigmentation. He has spots on his face, hands and legs, dermatologist told him it is vitiligo and does unfortunately come along with SLE.

Melissa

I read on a medical site that you can tell it's vitiligo if your skin glows brighter under black light. I took a black light I had from Halloween and went in a dark room. My hands glowed like new money! Curious I held it up to my face and looked in a mirror.... my face was spotted with glowing places all over!

So now I need to tell my rheumatologist and see if he thinks I need to see a dermatologist.

Also I need to talk to my therapist about the emotions I'm experiencing now. I'm a little freaked out.
