Hi all,
having a rough couple of days with this darn headache. I was in bed for 8 hours yesterday day time, and this headache just won't budge. Went to the GP this afternoon, he gave me some anti sickness pills (metroclopromide) as I've vomited a lot. He took my pulse and my BP and said I was dehydrated. He told me if I was no better i a couple of hours to go to casualty and get a pain killing injection and anti sickness injection. Try doing that when you can't drive, have a 5 year old and your hubby is going to work. I think I've took so many pills the last few days I'm rattling now. I have had a little relief the last 1/2 hour and wanted to check in (Hippi & Barbara have been on my mind) and thought whilst I can see well enough I'd ask if anyone had any ideas to get rid. My gp also said I had a build up of fluid behind my ear drum. My lupus is def active, he mentioned the lesions looked bad. He shoulda seen them a few days ago!
The meds I've took are: (not all at once)
Nurofen, Paracetamol, diclofenwick, tramadol, metraclopramide.
Tried lavender eye mask which my grandad bought for me. Tried steaming my head, lay in dark room for hours.
Unable to keep most of the pills down though, the sickness is quite bad. And yet again I've missed my little girls bed time. She did come lie with me though, and bless her heart, she rubbed my head and asked if I wanted a massage!!
Chillblain Pattern LE, possible SLE, tachycardia, proctal fugax, anismus, slow transit constipation.

Oh Lion I'm so sorry, that sounds miserable. Your daughter is so cute though. what a sweet heart. With all those meds it's no wonder your sick at your stomach. Than again migraines can do that too. I wont be any help as I have never had a headache like that in my life. Only the normal ones where ice or a bag of peas on my neck with some aspirin gets rid of it. Don't you wish doctors would just quit missing around and give you what you need right there on the spot? Well I wont hurt you head worse by ranting. I just wanted to send you hugs and pray you get some releif. Or do you have a friend that could drive you to the urgent care or another family member?

Praying for you

Hi Okie, thanks for replying. My daughter is a sweetie and for all she's a devil, I love her to bits!
It's 12.40 am here and there's no one I could ask at this time. I'll probably wait for my husband to get home from work, try again to get some sleep and if i'm no better in the morning then he can take me. You are so right about the docs, I just wished he could have given me what I needed in the surgery. I'm not going to take anthing else for the pain overnight, I think your right, theyr'e not helping anyway and are probably making my sickness worse, so I'll just take the anti sickness when I can and hope for the best. x x

((((lion)))) I'm so sorry about your miserable headache and that your lupus is so active. I'm frustrated for you that you didn't get a shot for pain when you got the shot for nausea, especially since you can't keep your pills down. I wish I had some ideas for you on relieving your headache, but I haven't found one myself yet. I hope that if you aren't better in the morning that you will go in for a shot - it's probably one of the only things that will help.

Your little girl sounds like a sweetie - kids really are amazing. I really pray that you can get some relief and some sleep.

Hugs and prayers.

Your daughter is so cute and so sweet. I am sorry to hear about your headahce. Could the headache from lupus and may want to consult your rhumy, because my recent headache, according to my Rhumty is due to lupus (for it accompanied w/the joint pains). I myself cannot offer you any solution because I also have no solution for my migraine/headache which can go on for three days non stop. Same as what Hippi suggests, if u do not feel any better, go get a shot. I beleive it should help

Lionn I hope you are feeling better today. Did you get rid of your headache?

I get headaches all the time, but not to the point where I get sick to my stomach. I hope it all settles down for you soon.

Hi Lion,

I too suffer from debilitating migraines with the dehydration of vomitting during Porphyria Attacks. One thing I have learned for myself is that Tramadol is good for pain but it is known to cause rebound migraines. Just a thought.

Hope you are well soon,
Leta
