What does mg/dL mean? Is it one tenth of a liter or ten liters?

Hi, Im sorry if this seems stupid.   some of my rheumie labs were a little off and when I went to check the range, because sometimes they are different, the ranges I was checking against are in mg/liter.  This is for Serum Protein Electropheresis, my alpha1 is a little low, but maybe the range is .30 mg/dL and CRP high at .6 mg/dL.  I'm sorry this is stupid but I haven't been able to find a site to do this.  Thanks for any help you can give.  I think my liver might be getting worse and I hope not, they stopped checking my liver levels about a year ago because they were convinced there was no point in it.  Whatever happens is going to happen, not much to do about it except try to lose weight, which is really hard.

All I can tell you is mg/dl stands for milligrams per deciliter.  Wish I could help out more.

Thanks to both of you. Still on qts and gallons. I think if I move the decimal one place to the right I will have the right value for a liter then. My brain is for crap, off synthroid for a scan. Thanks so much.
