question one) could having the a/c on be why my body hurts so bad.

question 2) I watch children and at first the older sister came this week with sore on mouth then blister on tounge (sp) today little brother was here and he has same thing.

My daughter looked up hand, foot and mouth disease and it looks like that's what they have my question is if I do have Lupus how bad could that be on me.

If I have Lupus I'm going through a flare and have for a short time now.
I have low temp and then high temp towards the evening, today for a bout an hour my temp was normal. 98.6 and then it started dropping back down but I still feel like crap. I have sore thoart and my body aches. Latly my norm tem has been 97.3 in the mornings and then reaching 99.4 in the evenings. I have a rash that I got a few weeks ago, it looks like it is going away and then it will flare up again and start to itch.

I have dr. appointment on the 5th.

Hi Veronica
How long you have lupus? If it is possible, I think you better call your doc about your rash and your temp condition. It looks like lupus fever to me.
Regarding the mouth sore/blister, lupus people is prone to have mouth ulcers, herpes (not the genital ones which is through sexual transmission), and it takes a while to heal. I always have mouth ulcers. The worse case I had is 2 weeks for the pain to stop.
If these hand/foot/mouth disease are contagious, you need to be careful and not to get them.
What other medications are you taking?
A/C will not cause the pain, but the lupus flare will cause your body pain.

Hi veronica, while I can't say much about the sores in the mouth all I can offer is that the AC makes me feel better. (well right up until I get the bill!) lol. Your tempertures sound a lot like mine. it swings around between 96. 5 to 99.9 at even given time for no particular reason. I hope you get feeling better and get some answers for the fever and for the mouth sores. You might want to take pictures of your rash before you go to the doctor. but you probably won't have it than! That's usually the way it goes.

Hugs

I'm like Carol and feel better when I am in the air conditioning - it's the humidity and heat that makes my body hurt. I don't have a lot to add to what everyone said about hand/mouth disease. I think it would be a good idea to touch base with your doctor though since you are feeling so sick. You might be going into a flare or you may have picked up a virus from the kids you watch. You just need to be careful.

Take care and I hope you get some rest this weekend and start feeling better.

I'm going to get rest this weekend. I was thinking back as to sores in my mouth and I have had a few mostly on the tip of my tongue. I remember the pain. Does that sound like the sores you are talking about. I always thought that it was from to much salt even though I didn't eat alot of salt.

I did take a pick of rash on my arm but it is on here from when I downloaded pics for parents to see of their children.

I have a question relating to this. Lately I have been getting several of what I thought to be just really bad "canker sores" that have been quite a bit worse since I started getting thrush from all the steroids (which I'm treating with nystatin). Are the mouth ulcers like canker sores? I also was recently reminded that my dad has had oral herpes since he was my age. Do you guys think I should talk to the doc about this as well???

Avery, I agree that you should talk to your doctor. A lot of us with lupus get mouth sores and ulcers and the doctor can help you determine what kind of sores you have in your mouth.

I sometimes have canker sores; sometimes are mouth ulcers, and now oral herpes. I also think you may want to call your doc and talk to him about it.

I noticed a couple of you comment that you quite regularly have oral herpes breakouts. This is common with some manifestations of lupus -- it is so common for me that I take a daily dose of Valtrex to keep from having a breakout. I've done this for several years without any problems.

So, if you're having breakouts all the time, you might consider asking your dr about Valtrex. Mine was prescribed by my rheumy.

Cheers,
