I have 100.7 temperature right now. I know people with autoimmune problems suffer from fevers. I was just wondering if anyone knows why? I was wondering if it's from the inflamation or what? Before I got sick my normal body temp was around 97.4 roughly. Since I got sick it yooyoo's up and down daily. It seems like if I lay completely still it's not bad but if I even so much as wash the dishes wham it shoots up. It just seems so weird.

I hope everyone has a moment  to  ponder the meaning of memorial weekend my thoughts and prayers turn the those that grieve  the loss of a loved one wearing the uniform of their country.

thanks in advance

If you do not have flu/cold or any kind of infection, it could be lupus fever. Sometimes if you have kidney infection or URI or any kind of infection, it will cause fever also. If you stay like this and it would not go away, you need to call the doc and let him/her know about it. When I had URI few years ago, I often had fever. However, when my lupus was flaring, I also had fever that would not go away unless increased in medication. I suggests you call the doc and let him know how your fever is running.

Hey Carol, I'm sorry to hear about your fever. I agree that if you don't have some kind of flu bug or cold or infection then it is probably a lupus fever. I think you are right that a lot of the lupus fevers come from inflammation. I used to get fevers almost everyday and then prednisone helped them become fewer, although wehn I flare I almost always get fevers. People here have told me that if my fever gets much over 100.5 then it is a good idea to call your doc. If you get a fever like this tomorrow, it would be a good idea to check in with your doctor and let him know what is going on.

Hang in there and I hope you can get some rest and get the fever under control.

Fevers were the main symptom that finally led to my diagnosis. I had a low grade fever, 99-100.3 for months. All blood work came back normal. Even had appendectomy on the off chance that it was that. When they did the surgery they found VERY swollen mesenteric or abdominal lymph nodes all throughout my belly. It wasnt until having the fevers for a couple of months that my ANA came back raised.

I can attest to what a misery it is to have those temps. When I get a fever, my coping skills go way way down. I feel cranky, achy, tired and I cry easily.

Im with the others though to let your doc in on it. That way they can rule out the other things that might be causing it.

So sorry you are dealing with the fevers right now and wishing you much cooler days ahead : )

Hi Carol,

Hope you feel better; call the dr. to report this even if the temp. is gone on Tues.

I have been thinking about the meaning of this weekend's Holiday as I know you have. Thinking of you, Carol, and your personal loss.

I go through that and I'm sorry to hear that you are going through it. I have not been dx with Lupus as of yet.

I hope that you get to feeling better.

I too remember what this day is all about as I am an Army brat from way back when.

Thanks Omega, Marie, Hippi,Darlene, Emmi, and Veronica, I appreciate everyone getting back to me. I pretty much just laid under the blankets last night. The weather is pretty grummy, lots of rain. I woke up with a sore throat. That is my first symptom other than the fever that I may be getting sick. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't turn into anything more than a sore throat. I'm not sure that has annything to do with my fever through since it seems I have that most of the time. My doctor is out til tomorrow if I continue down this path I'll call.

Miss Emmie, I got my SSI figured out now I can apply for medicaid again on tuesday. (just thought you'd want to know mom)

Veronica, please thank your family for me!

Marie, you're right It Bites!!!!

Love to all

Talking about the fevers Sunday I took me temp it was 97.3 then I spent the day cleaning, stopping now and then and by the time I got down I was starting to feel like my thoart was on fire so I took my temp it was 99.3. I relaxed the rest of the noght and it went back down a little. This is just to weird for me. I hate a dirty house but I hate feeling bad when I clean it.

Hi veronica, boy do I know what ya mean. It's just weird. I gave my dog a pill today that starts killing fleas in 20 mins. So I have been fighting with him to brush out his coat. He weighs 60 lbs so it's no easy feat. but just that little bit I can feel the heat in my face and my eyes start getting real dry. I never had dry eyes before. There's no point in taking my temp. I know it's gonna be up but in an hour if I don't do anything it will go back down. Because of the weekend my doctor is backlogs. So I can't get into see her until next month. I've been living with this forever it seems so it's not a big hurry. It's just frustring. I'm wondering if we take some tylenol or somthing every 8 hours if it would keep the fever gone before it starts? I think I'll try a little preventing maintenace and see if it helps. IF I look at what I'm already taking and the tylenol won't be a problem.

I hope you get feeling better

love

My b/f who knows nothing about temps just looks at me strange when I tell him how my body acts.

Yesterday we were going to go to his parents for dinner after he got off of work but since he had a long day we stayed home and I was so glad. I was still wore out form cleaning. I also have had like pins and needles in my left leg since I cleaned house on Sunday.

I watched my children from my dc today and was glad there was only two I ate a hamburger last night and it put me into a small panic attack, which I don't understand.

Carol, I'm sorry you're going through this because even a little fever can make you feel so awful. I'm the worst when it comes to fevers an have trouble doing much other than curling up under blankets. I do hope yours go away soon. I take Ultram for pain - it's a combination of tramadol and tylenol, and on my bad days my doc wants me to take it every six hours, so I can't imagine that tylenol could be bad for you. Since you can't get in to see the doc for a month, could you talk to his nurse over the phone and ask her? Or ask your pharmacist if there's a problem taking tylenol with all the other meds you're taking. Surely your pharmacist knows what you're taking. Feel better Carol.

Thank you Patty, Yeah I can do that. Plus it seems like somtimes pain killers don't work as well as good old tylenol. I already take 3 vicodin a day if I changed it to 3 tylenol I think that would be better. Yes me too re: the fever. I hate it. I'm a whiner. The older I get the more it feels like I got hit by a truck with ever degree it goes up. The last time I had THE FLARE FROM HELL Was last aug. I wanted to die. I cried in my sleep. My temp got up to about 103. I never want to go through that again! I hope you are doing good with the rain. Frankly I think you should jump in a boat and float this way for a visit. LOL
