I am new to this discussion board and I registered because I wanted to know if anyone else had the same issues.  I am 36 years old.  I was originally diagnosed w/Lupus 14 years ago.  Over the years the diagnosis has bounced back and forth from Lupus to Connective Mixed-tissue disease.  With the Lupus I developed Pulmonary Fibrosis. During on of my routine CT scans  a technician reported a problem w/my left breast.  Since that time the dr has ordered a mammogram, ultra sound of the breast and another CT scan. I had the mammogram yesterday and the other tests are scheduled over the next 2 weeks.   I am really worried that on top of the Lupus I may be diagnosed w/cancer.  Has anybody else experienced problems with their breast because of Lupus?

Mrs. Jackson, did the technician tell you what kind of problem she saw with your left breast? I know how worried you must be. I haven't had problems with my breasts since I've been diagnosed with lupus and I even take estrogen.

This forum is a great place, full of informative and wonderful people and I do hope you'll get some answers here. Please write back and let us know what you find out from the doctors. You'll be in my thoughts.

stljack, what other tests are you talking about? When I started feeling the bad effects of lupus I developed cyst in my left breast. I had to have mamo, sono-gram & last doc wanted biopsy. My new doc ran another mamo & felt there was no need for biopsy. I now have cysts in both breasts. Sometimes these cysts can be real painfull. I am hoping this is your problem. Please keep us posted & know we are wishing you the best!

Hi stljack, I think it's normal for us to worry about things more now. I get worried mostly because I already feel like the camel proverbial straw staring at me. Try to keep possitive. Don't buy trouble. wait for the results and come here if you need to talk. I recently had a mamogram done. They found somthing and said they wanted to do an ultra sound. So they did the ultra sound and the dotor came in and said at this time she didn't feel a biopsy was nessesary but to keep an eye on this area on my left breast and if I had problems to come back./ If I didn't she still wants another ultra sound in 6 months. So I do frequent self breast exams to become more formiliar with what is normal lumps and bumps for me and what is not. That's all I can do for now.

Hang in there it shouldn't take but a few days to get your results let us know how it went

Welcome to the group

I just had a scare with my breasts as well. Went for an ultrasound and then ended up going to see a surgeon. Its very scary but in the end it came out okay. I believe that you will be okay too. We are here for you if you need us. Please let us know how your results are.

The technician did not tell me what he saw, he put it in the report to the doctor.  Since then I've had a mammogram, breast ultrasound, and a CT scan.  I see my doctor on July 2 for the results. I will keep you all posted.  Since the time the dr told me they saw something I swear i feel everything---it feels as if my breasts are detached from my body.

Hi Mrs. J, I imagine you are pretty scared right now. I try to tell myself if it was that bad they would call me right away. It usually works that way. I know when it's your body that isn't a lot of comfort. I'm not very good at waiting for results. Maybe you could call the doctors office and ask them if they can give you any info on what the tests results are. They are usally pretty good at giving you the information unless there is a problem. Than they ask you to come in.

Hang in there I'll be praying for good results

Mrs Jackson,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you get a good report on july 2nd. It is scarey when something shows up on the mammo...((Hugs)). I have had swollen lymph nodes for a little over a year now. The surgeon didn't think they were anything to worry about so he didn't do a biopsy.
Hang in there and try not to worry. Take care and keep us updated. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
