I am so tired and frustrated. I am tired of having no strength because of the pain and it seems like my main course these days is pain pills and more pain pills. It effects my ability to do the things I love . My husband is so sweet and sad at the same time to see his wife in such pain and doesn't know what to do.

I have been doing some research and I think I have fibromyalgia but the Dr thinks I have lupus I have appts the end of July with a rheumy and a neuro hopefully between the two of them we can start to come up with some concrete answers. I have been dealing with diabetic neuropathy for almost 3 years and has gotten progressively worse used to be in feet and legs , now all the way to low back and hips ,constant headaches, neck aches. My eyes have become sensitive to outside light I have sun glasses on even when the sun is not shinning. My stomach problems another story possibly IBS

Well thanks for listening to my frustration....

I hope you all have a great weekend..

My love and prayers to you all.

Sheryl

Sheryl I think you explained very well the frustration that so many of us feel. It's so hard to sit by and watch life go on around you. It's also hard on our families who feel helpless. Waiting until the end of July for your appointment must seem like forever. I really hope you get some answers at that appointment, but it can sometimes take a while for the rheumatologist to put together all of the pieces. Also there are quite a few people who have both lupus and fibro, so it's possible that you have both.

Hang in there. We're here for you through all of this. Take care

Hi Sheryl,

I am a testament to the right mix of meds can really change a persons life. A year ago my wonderful boyfriend practically had to carry me into the water thinking that I could at least do a little bit of swimming. I couldn't -- not even one stroke. Although diagnosed with MCTD, my rhuemie was doing nothing more than pain meds and prilosec. Well, a switch of docs and some aggressive meds (I love my Imuran) and I am able to have an ok life (taking care of my autistic son and keeping my job, the top two on my list).

Ok, I didn't mean to ramble. Just know that there are many of us who have found meds that work. The journey isn't easy but we are here to support you every step of the way.

I see you have sleep apnea. I just did the sleep test thing the other day (ok, night) and haven't got the results yet. When I do, I may start a thread on what people do about it and whether "the machine" works for them. Anything to keep from popping another pill.

Good luck, big hugs,
Stay Strong,
Sue

Sheryl,

I'm sorry that you are going through an ordeal with trying to figure out what's going on. I hope that these upcoming appts can give you some more concrete answers. Like Hippi said, a lot of people with Lupus also have Fibro so that may be it. I have heard many here state that its hard to tell the difference when their fibro or lupus is giving problems. Of course, the treatment for both seem to contradict so getting the right combo of meds is important. Please let us know how the appointments go.

Take Care

Sheryl,

I'm so sorry that you are feeling so awful and hope that this month flyes by for you and that your rheumy is able to help you get some relief. Many of us who have lupus also have fibro and when they both flare at the same time it's pretty unbearable. And with your neuropathy, IBS and sensitivity to light you have your hands full. Just know that we understand and I'm sending you lots of healing energy and love. Hope you feel better real soon.
