Hi--
I hope everyone is ok today.  I've been trying to repigment and the treatment that should work isn't and so I've been investigating my skin issues.  I'm developing these lumps, in some area itchy patches of tiny round bumps and in other areas raised hyperpigmented bumps but not like a mole, different, flat, different somehow, and other areas tiny scars with holes in the middle that were once bumps with some sort of center that scaled off and took forever to heal into a scar.  These are on my upper abdomen and chest.  Because they all happened just one or two bumps at a time, except for the new itchy patch, I didn't think much of it.  Some weird kind of bite, I thought, but I ran across some prictures of mild discoid lesions, I would have sworn one picture was of me.  I haven't shown any to the doctor because I just thought they were bug bites--ant bites can take forever to heal.  Now that my skin is getting worse, I'm losing pigment and gaining hyperpeigment spots pretty fast now, I guess I need to bring it up.  I'm afraid they'll just look at it and because its not that bad say, oh, that's nothing, like they did about the lump on my leg.  Any ideas?  I have to see the derm tomorrow and the rheumie the next day.  Does this sound like the kind of skin lesions that you get with lupus or other stuff or just aging bumps, my unexplainable pigment problem that is not responding to immunosuppressants, and dermatitis.  I want them to figure out what is wrong before it gets worse!?!

Love, Marji

Marji,

I wouldn't hesitate to show them to both your dermatologist tomorrow and your rheumy the following day. Even if they say they are small discoid lesions and they can't do much about them, they will have another piece of the puzzle. My philosophy is that the more information my doctors have, the better treatment they can give me.

I do hope you find out what they are. I'm so sorry that your pigment problem is still a mystery and isn't getting any better. Let us know what you find out.
