Hey everybody!
It's been quite some time since I've been here.  Just figured I would jump back in the loop because I'm not feeling well and I think things are getting worse quicker. sad My arthitis normally doesn't start bothering me until late Sept-Oct and today my hip is pretty bad but once again nothing compared to what I've been through but I am having a hard time walking and concentrating on work.  I started a new job in April because I was laid off from my last job do to my company moving downsouth.  The job I have now is still considered a temp job so guess what NO INSURANCE, which means I haven't taken my meds in about 4 months.  I can barely afford to pay my bills so even if I were to get my meds with no insurance I wouldn't have the money for them.
Any advice or input would be great!!

Here is a site that offers quite a bit of info on assistance/special programs for medication

http://www.needymeds.com/

You also may consider asking your healthcare provider for samples until you get back on your feet.

I'm so sorry that you are having a rough time right now. Looks like CityGirl gave you a good site and some good advice. I sure hope you can get back on your meds soon, hopefully with some assistance. You may want to talk to your doc and explain your situation and maybe he can rx you some older medications that are not so expensive so you can get some relief. I hope things get better for you soon.

JessicaAnne,

It's been a while since we've seen you here and I'm glad you're back, but hate to hear that you're starting to feel bad again. CityGirl's suggestions for getting meds are great. Doctor's nurses are good people to get to know because they are generally the ones who disburse the meds. I can't imagine how you must feel to be getting worse again and not have the meds you need to treat your arthritis. I hope you find a way to get some meds real soon. Please keep us in the loop.

Take care,

Pat

Jessica, it's good to hear from you, but I'm sorry things aren't going so well and that you don't have the meds you need. You have gotten some good advice on possible ways to get some meds. Also you could try to get in touch with a patient advocate who might be able to help you.

Hang in there and I hope things get better for you.

First, thank you to everyone for the advice and Citygirl thanks for the website, I'll have to check it out when I get a chance.

sad  I ended up leaving early on Thursday because walking became more of a challenge and by Thusday evening I was stuck on the couch and had to use crutches to get up and walk which still didnt' help all that much.  The pain was really bad Thursday night and it was probably my 2nd worst experience so it was bad.  As I tell anyone who I discuss this with.....I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on my worst enemy.
I also had to call out of work Friday because I didn't get any sleep Thursday night and I still couldn't walk.  Today I'm in no pain, Thank GOD!!!!!  Have a slight limp but I'm good.

Thank you for all your support as always!!!!
Keep in touch and I'll be sure to do the same!! :-)

Here's another link that may help... it's the patient resources for rx meds from the LFA.  It has a lot of good links for medication assistance.

Hey Jessica,

Hope you are doing better!!!! I was curious if you had Walmart or Target near you. If so I found that you have 2 meds on their $4 generic prescription list. The Prednisone and the Naproxen is on there. I also do know of another source but I don't know if I can post it here.

The name of the other is for low income, un-insured. If a moderator sees this and can let me know I will post it.

Thanks,

Leta

The other links posted sites I think is similar to what you want to post Leta (I'm guessing). If its within HW rules, I don't see a problem. :-)

Hi everyone! Haven't been on in a while and just wanted to give you all an update...i'm doing pretty good. My knee was swollen the other night and I have to wear my knee brace and then my lower back was killing me the night after but it was tolerable once again compared to what I've been through. Also, does anyone know how i can get free samples of Mobic???
