Hi--
Do you have the following with your face rash:

1. Big pores, especially around nose
2. Red areas that look like someone pinched your face or something
3. Hairiness
4. Hyperpigment
5. Soreness
6. Red spider veins
7. Acne that isn't acne, but does kind of pop and then gets scaley and stays scaly and won't go away for a month and leaves a scar
8. A spot that feels like a red burnt spot, even though you havent been burnt
9 problems on chin sides of eyes, above nose between eyes as well as mask area

Thanks for any help you can give because I'm trying to tell if my rash is like lupus rash.  Its not real severe. though its really really red, so its hard to tell.

Thanks,
Love, Marji

Marji, I can say yes to all items on your list except for the burnt spots and the problems with the side of the eyes. My posres have definitely gotten bigger and I'm not sure why and I'm not sure if my hyperpigmentation is related to meds or not. I know plaquenil can sometimes cause it if you are out in the sun. I think my hairyness is due to prednisone because it's become more noticeable to me since I've been on prednisone for a while.

Like everything else with lupus, I think the rashes can vary from person to person. Does your dermatologist think that most of these problems are related to a lupus rash?
Diagnosis:  UCTD (lupus) 2006; Raynauds 2006; Sjogren's 2006; lupus symptoms began 2003; CFS 1991; Mono 1985

He thinks I have more than one problem going on. Like roseacea and lupus rash, but because of my sun problems and fatty liver, I think porphyria is something to consider as well. I just wondered if the prores and stuff were part of the lupus rash. I can't tell if the cream is working for the roseacea that he gave me. Like everything else, it goes and comes and goes again. I'm beginning to think it amounts to--do I want to rub all these creams all over me or not. I don't think any of the stuff is really working sometimes, some days it looks a lot better. That's why I'm confused.
