Good afternoon ladies, I was wondering. I am keeping like a low-grade fever, it goes no more than 100. But I feel fine, well except for the aches and pains, and feeling very tired. But other than that I'm good. I was just wondering if anyone else does this.......Thanks.

Yes, before treatment I ran a low grade fever all the time. Now, it's just when I'm tired/over done it or having a flare.

Dolly, I used to get low grade fevers a lot more frequently than I do now that I'm on prednisone. I'd be sure to mention this to your rheumy because you might need something stronger than plaquenil for your lupus if you're having so many fevers. I don't recognize all of your meds so it's possible that you already are taking something else for lupus, but I'd still mention it to your rheumy. I hope the fevers don't continue indefinitely. I know that I feel absolutely awful when I run even a low grade fever. It can really zap your strength.

I have been running fevers of over 101+ for a long time. It does zap your strength. I would also mention this to your Rheumy. They have tried me on several medications, but initially the Plaquenil helped the most, then when it stopped working they put me on Methotrexate, then Imuran and now Cellcept. Hang in there!

Yep I'm raising my hand. Any given day I can pop a thermometer in my mouth and it's between 99.3- 99.8. Which is totally weird because My temp has always been on the low side around 97.5 or somthing. for my whole life as long as I can remeber. If I vacumm it goes up or fold laundry or do dishes. It doesn't matter. I am always in shock when it comes out 98.6. Yes it is tiring. Like the others said. Take your temp 3 times a day and right it down. Give it to your rheumy I hope he can help.

Thanks Ladies. I have only been on the Plaquenil for about 1 1/2 months, so hopefully it will start working soon. I am just getting so darn tired. Doing even little things wears me out. And yes, I will mention it to my Rheumy, Thanks again!!

devee,

It took me about 3-4 months after I started taking it to start feeling the benefits of Plaquenil but it is like "wow"... I feel almost normal again. It's weird, it kind of happens overnight. Fevers were a problem for me too but now not so much. Of course, I still have the fatigue and aches but I'm able to work through it so much more than before. I have more good days than bad. I'm a little worried because I hear that it just stops working for some but I will enjoy it for as long as I can. Waiting for the Plaq to kick in can be excrutiating but it is worth it.

Take Care
