Barb, it's good to see you on the forum. I've been thinking about you and wondering how you've been. Hopefully you got to chat last night.

Hi Hippi:

I managed to talk with Lynnwood for a bit, then Ellie came on and chatted with me.

To answer your question, no I'm feeling pretty poorly both physically and emotionally but there's no use in even attempting to fuss about it. I'll do what my rheumy said to do, just suck it up and deal with it. I just don't feel like continuing on, but that's my struggle too.

Hope you are doing better and are feeling well. How's your son feeling these days? I hope his pain is better controlled. Please let me know How he's doing.

Have a good day.

Love,
Barb

Barb, I'm sorry things are still so rough, although I know that sadly things are probably going to continue to be rough for you. I know I've said it a lot, but I wish there was some way to keep you more comfortable so at least you'd get a little relief once in a while.

Thanks for asking about my son. Since being on long term antibiotics to treat his strep levels/rheumatic fever, he has longer stretches of feeling pretty good, but still has flares. He gets labs done every two months and his last round of labs still didn't look good. He continues to have high levels of inflammation and docs are now thinking that he probably has both reactive arthritis due to strep and an underlying connective tissue disease or juvenile arthritis. He's been going through a rough period lately and we just took him to urgent care yesterday where he was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. He's really prone to both pneumonia and strep, but it amazed me that he got pneumonia while on antibiotics. He gets sicker more during the school year because of everything the kids at school pass around.

It was so nice that you asked about my son because I feel like, for me, I have this wonderful forum to come to and deal with my own things related to lupus but I don't have much of a place to go to talk about my son's health problems and a lot of that really weighs on me.

Try to take care of yourself as best as you can. Do you feel like you are getting settled into your new home? We're here for you Barb and please don't feel like you have to suck it up for us - we want to be here for you.

Lots of love and hugs

Hi Barb, I'm so sorry I didn't make it to chat. My body was sinking further and further into the chair last night. I have 2 days to get everything done before my trip and I need about 3 of me to do it. I'm sorry you are not feeling any better but I hope your new home is working out for you and you are adjusting to your new life out of the military.
Hippi, I'm sorry your son has been so ill. I suffer from pnemonia quite often myself and the thought that your son has it while he is already on antibiotics is kind of scarey. Of course different anti-b's work for different things but it is worisome to be on any of them for very long. Since they don't tend to do what they are meant to do after a while.

you ladies take care
love ya
