Hello everyone,

I noticed a topic in the LFA website and found this article which may be encouraging to some of you who are attempting to get approval for disability.  It talks about proposed changes in qualifications for social security disability.

Rosie,

do you know if a lupus patient can get partial disabilty? when i asked about disability benefits at my local medical assistance office they told me i had to be completely disabled and not working. I really don't want to give up work but working full time is becoming very difficult for me. I am so exhausted I can't maintain my home, even making dinner is a chore. When I get home I just want to lay down. Sometimes I sleep and sometimes I just can't move from the pain.

Just wondering if anyone has any info or can direct me to some websites that might help.  Thanks

Hi sara and sak's mom,

I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time. I don't know how you working mom's do it. I know I used to juggle WAY more than I should have, but I had no dx and didn't realize what was wrong with me. I though I was just weak and not as strong as others. I even felt lazy . . . when in all actuality I was doing WAY too much. Be kind to yourself when you can and rest when you need to.

You should start a new topic with your question as the title. Then others who know more about disability will see it. I know very little about it, but saw that website and wanted to share it. Your question will get lost in this string, so go ahead and start a new topic.

Blessings!
