Hi Everybody,

We're on our way to Colorado tomorrow--one of our favorite places to go. I'm looking forward to it. This will be the first time we are able to go in September since I'm on medical leave (one good thing about it--I still terribly miss being in the classroom). I'm  hoping the Aspens are beginning to turn and the elk are bugling!

I haven't been posting much lately b/c I've been flaring for a while (had a basal cell skin cancer removed think that started it) but trying to deny it so maybe it won't be real. But I read and keep up with everyone all the time. Since I don't drive due to the encephalopathy, you guys are my lupie support group/family. Take care all; I will ask for updates when we get back. Behave yourselves!

xoxo emmie

Emmi . . . sounds like a great outdoor vacation!! I hope the weather cooperates. Sorry you've been feeling poorly. If you have to rest and be less active, it might as well be in Colorado!!

Have a great time!

Blessings!

Emmi,

Im so sorry you've been flaring. The basal cell carcinoma must have really been a scare. My dad had several removed over the years and never had any complications so let's pray that yours is now gone. I hope your vacation will be fun and also healing for you. Enjoy it and do as I say, not as I do -- don't get too much sun and if you do, use sunblock. LOL. The cool weather in Colorado is sure to do you some good and I'm sure the landscape will be breathtaking. You're my family too and I'll be thinking about you and look forward to hearing about your vacation when you return. Thanks for your concerns about my hubby, but he's fine - just has a bad case of the flu. I'm enjoying my time with him.

Have fun!

Love,

Pat

Emmi--
I'm sorry you're flaring and that you had that skin cancer removed, and I hope that it turns out to be nothing or at least over with. I hope you are escaping to cooler weather. I love fall and a fire in the fireplace and hot cider or whatever and the smell of the leaves and the pine trees, sounds like heaven. I hope you have a wonderful time and that it cures your ills and you can dance under the stars or whatever you want to do. I hope your HE takes a break too. Well, have fun and say hi to some big deer for me!
Love, Marji

Hi Emmie:

Sorry about the skin cancer, the "C" word is so upsetting. I hope the borders around the site are clear and cancer free and that you won't need to do anything else for that. It certainly sounds like having the procedure done set you off into a flare. I'll pray that your flare settles down and you can enjoy your vacation. Colorado is a great place, we were stationed in Denver Bill's first year in the military. My in-laws lived in Grand Junction so I know how nice it is there.

Try to rest and relax and just enjoy your time off. I'm thinking about you and praying for you.

Love,
Barb

emmi, I hope you have a great trip to Colorado. It's one of my absolute favorite places too. The cool weather and the mountain air can't be beat. I hope that you aren't starting a flare and that you end up feeling okay for your vacation. I'll look forward to hearing how things went when you get back.

Love and hugs
