Hi, I'm new. I have a question, can you have lupus without the rashes?

Thanks,
KaAl

Hi KaAl, My names Carol, and the answer to your question is absolutely yes! I have started getting some rashes lately but I was DX's a year ago. Some times people will get a rash occasionally but others never get a rash at all. Have you seen a doctor yet? what makes you think you may have Lupus?

Welcome to the forum KaAI!!! I hope you'll tell us more about yourself. Like Carol said . . . "Yes" rash is only one of 11 criterea for diagnosing Lupus. You only need 4 of the 11 criterea for a positive dx. Are you having some symptoms???

This is a safe place to share . . . I hope you make some good friends here.

Blessings!

Thank you both for such a sweet welcome. I have alot of symptoms that could be Lupus or might even be Lyme?!! What type of test must you have to dx Lupus? I actually had a western blot done for Lyme and it showed that my body is making antibodies against the Lyme bacteria!

Hello KaAl,

I know nothing about Lyme . . . but there IS a Lyme forum here too. Pop in there and ask them some questions too.

If you look at my signature there are some links in the last line. Click on "Lupus Criteria (4 of 11)" to see the Lupus Criteria. The Link for Lupus Resources also has some great info from our members . . . Read those and then ask any questions you have. The members here are very helpful if you have questions.

I sure hope your doc helps you get to the bottom of things. But we have found that knowledge is power and the more you learn about Lyme and Lupus, the more you will be able to help in your diagnosis.

Blessings!
