I have a few sores on my scalp that just do not want to go away. Does anyone else seem to have this problem? Right now I have one on the crown of my scalp that hurts like heck and just won't heal!

Gidget,
I frequently get sores/rashes on my scalp. They usually last a couple of weeks. They usually go along with a flare for me. Maybe you should call you doctor. Take care, Judy

Hi Gidget,

I've been getting quite a few sores on my scalp over the past few months that will eventually heal, then a couple of new ones will form that very slowly heal.  They've been moving across the crown of my scalp since early June/07.  I thought it might have something to do with hair products, but I stopped using them and I'm still getting the sores.  Of course it doesn't help that I've sometimes picked them like a monkey.  I have tried rubbing alcohol and/or hydrogen peroxide to help dry them up.  I have no idea what has caused my sores, since I'm not normally prone to scalp/skin problems.  Except of course my bizarre skin peeling issue.  I hope yours clear up soon.

Thanks for the replies, it's nice to know it's Lupus related and I just don't have another issue going on. You're right, the sores are slow healing.

Gidget, I have heard of girls needing to have steroid injections in the skin around the soars . . . I'm sooo sorry you are having to deal with this.

Blessings!

Ouch! I see my rheumy on Thursday to discuss the battery of blood tests he ran and I'll show him the sore on my head. At least it's on my head and hidden from my hair instead of my nose!
