Hi my name is kota and some of you have met me in chat or on another forum. about two years or so I was tested for Lupus but it was negative. I was on the Lupus org web site reading up and some of my symptoms seem like Lupus. Can one get Lupus at any time? Here are a few of my symptoms I have had in the last two days mo. Labor day weekend here in the states I was camping. about a day after camping I developed a reddish/raised bumpish rash all over my face and neck that lasted almost a week. I have been experiencing alot of frequent headaches latley and some almost seem like migraines. Yesterday I also developed a horrible pain in my chest. I thought it to be real bad heartburn/Acid reflux
Any feed back would be great

Welcome to the forum. Yes. One can get lupus at any time. You don't hv it two years b/4 do not mean that you won't have it now. If the rash is butterfly shape, it is defintely lupus rash. Since you went camping and the rash may be caused by some allergic reaction to some plants/insects. Frequent headaches or chest pain does not mean that you have lupus. I think the lupus forum has a link to the symptoms of lupus. You can go click on it and see. My suggestion is that it is better to consult your doctor in your situation.
DX SLE 1988; Pred 10mg, Cellcept 2500 mg, Verapmil 120 mg (for migraine headaches), Famotidine 20 mg BD, Volteran 150 mg (temporary), Calcium + Vitamin D 1200mg

Welcome to the forum Kota,

If you get the rash again take a picture so you can show the doctor. A malar rash is not necessarily lupus but it will count as one criterea for diagnoses. If you look at the bottom of my signature there is a link for "4 of 11 criterea" for diagnoses. If you click it, you'll find a list of 11 criterea . . . the doctor needs to document 4 of them to consider a lupus diagnoses.

Lupus can be very difficult to diagnose so you'll need to keep a symptom journal which will help the doctor to figure things outs. There are also some great tips from the members here contained in one of the posts in "Lupus Resources" . . . link in my signature.

Learn all you can and you'll be able to help keep notes to help your doctor.

Sorry its so complicated. . . welcome to the forum!!

Blessings!

Thanks for ur posts. I sure do have it complicated. I was born w/ hemolytic anemia and although I call it neutropenia...tis leukopenia. I kick myself that I didn't go to the doc when I had this rash but it did happen one other time and although I take meds that r sensitive to sun...have never really had that problem. I have also had this chest pain b4...both after the fact I was tested for lupus. Then u through the endometriosis prob. on top of things...uffda. Until next time. Kota
