I haven't posted in quite some time; college life keeps me busy!
Well I suppose it's that time of the year again...I attempted to go to bed but I was so cold-- I've never felt so internally cold before. I had on my sheet and comforter plus count em, 1,2,3,4 blankets and a sweatshirt. I wake up thinking I must be getting sick, but go about my daily business as usual until I take a nap and when I wake up, my left eye is swollen shut.  I've mentioned this before, but this time the whole left side of my face was swollen and kind of numb.  Scary stuff. Out of nowhere before I started to type this my chest began to hurt. Earlier I thought I was going to pass out and now I have a headache. It's weird how fast all of this came on.
Does anyone experience anything like that?
Oh, and I suppose I will go to my campus's health services but I doubt they will do much about it.

Hi Daymay . . . I hope you got some help for that swelling . . . If it is bad, I would definately get some help . . .it could be an allergic reaction to one of your meds. I hope the campus health services will point you in the right direction. Keep us posted . . .

Daymay, I agree with Rosie that you should get things checked out ASAP to make sure nothing serious is going on. Let us know what campus health says.

Take care

DayMay that horrible! Why are they like that? Are they real nurses or a different health care worker..Not that it makes a difference because it shouldn't-they should help you, in the least, point you in the right direction for the help you need..

I thought of something that has happened to me the past few days actually-I have felt sick so quick that it was strange. One second I was fine, talking to my son then the next I was on the couch, just out of service! I literally got sick that quick..Very tired, sore, just blah...After a while it went away and I felt better but, it was just so quick that it made me notice.

I hope you find what is wrong and also the right people to help you..

Aggie :-)

I know exactly what you are feeling like right now. I don't want this to scare you, but just to share my experience. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with Raynaud's ... just cold & I mean super, duper freezing cold all of the time! about a year later, I too started experiencing chest pain & numbness in my face (but no swelling). This went on for a couple of days - the docs couldn't figure it out. I ended up in the ER one night feeling like I was having a heart attached at age 23! Ended up fluid had developed around my heart --- that had to be removed (peracardio effusion). After that episode, my Rheumy determined I'd progressed into Lupus.

Remember, I am by no means trying to scare you - I just remember feeling terrible & no one having any suggestions or solutions.

I hope this helps! (If the chest pains persist, ask for a chest x-ray and echocardiogram of your chest cavity).

I have Lupus ... Lupus doesn't have me.
