It has been so long sense I have been on this site. I guess u don't wont to think about all the bad stuff when you feel some what normal. I think it was like months and months ago.

So here is an update: got a miniture daushund, I graduated from highschool, enrolled in a tech school, got my first speeding ticket on my way to school, had some serious skin issues. ( face, neck, chest, and shoulders, and some in my scalp) it looked like i was a burn victum and had ulcers in my mouth and had another flare which was why i had the skin issues and ulcers in my mouth plus sleeping at least 15 hours a day. so that lead to 3 days of iv steriod treatments and my arms looking like i was severly beaten.

So after that i started to feel alot better more energy, i could eat again after my mouth healed up. I wasn't sleeping all day. I was litteraly on the couch all day sleeping. so after all that i ended up getting a new rheumy which i love! His name is Dr. Parris which i don't mind sharing b/c he is the best rheumy ever! sorry if that is against the rules about personal info and all that.

The bad thing about the skin issues is that it has left some pretty nasty scars to go along with the on going stretch mark issue. But even though they are fading they still look pretty disturbing. My weight is still pretty high for me I am having alot of trouble with fast food and eating when i am not hungry. I thought everything in a new school would be so different that i would come out of my shell, its not so hard but definantly not as easy as i thought.

i still haven't got to a therapist yet. #1 b/c right now i definantly don't have the cash for that. but i really do think it would help me out alot there is so much stuff i am not sure about and so much stuff i need to talk about so someone i know will listen and not just say "yeah right so anyway back to what i was saying".

wow this is an unbelivable long post but like i said its been a long time. so thanks for reading this if you made it this far.

Hey Jessie . . . thanks for the update!

I'm glad you are on the other side of that flare . . . sounded nasty. If you are still on the steroid treatment by pill, that will definately make you want to eat more. Its good that you are aware of it so you can get back on track. I have NO desire for fast food since watching a movie called "Supersize Me". It's not a four star, must see, kind of movie, but it documents one mans venture to make fun of someone else who sued one of the fast food places because he was fat. I won't ruin the story, but I just don't eat fast food anymore. You might find this movie at your local library . . . I take advantage of the free movies available there.

We are hooked on using fresh aloe. If you buy a plant, you can break off a stem, cut off a sliver, so you get a clean spot, and squeeze out the gel. Apply this to your sores. If they are already healed, I'm not sure how well it does at helping with scar tissue, but it sure does heal burns and such. The aloe you buy in the store does not work the same, it is just not effective like the fresh stuff. We actually used this on my sisters sores from cancer and the folks at the hospital couldn't believe how well it worked . . . put their stuff to shame.

Enjoy college . . . you'll feel more at home really soon. I hope you make some life-long friends there!!

Blessings!

thanks for the responses. yeah i have watched super size me we watched it in school for current issues. sad to say although it was very disturbing it made me want to go to micky d's after school. but at the time i was on heavy steroids. so i would probably eat fish after watching a show on it for an hour. I hate fish can't stand it! its really amazing how much steroids can effect you. not only what u eat, but think, move (the shakes).

i think we actually had an aloe plant here at one time. i shoud try to remember that the next time i get a sore. omg that hurt so freakin bad it was tight and dry and itched like no other. it looked horrible not to mention everyone who saw me at work asked me what happened. i mean honestly why can't people eventually get a clue, that maybe someone doesn't want to talk about skin issues.
