I started Jernigans last week--the borrelegon and the detox for CNS/PNS.  I see no effects--good or bad, yet, but I have been down with a bad cough and fever the last few days--unrelated to lyme I presume.

Hi Lisa,

I think this is a great protocol (well, it put me into remission so of course I'm going to say that).

I am assuming you have Dr. Jernigan's book?  All I can say is stick with it, it's not an easy protocol as it consists of lots of detoxing and if need be, changing your life around (eliminating as much stress as you can, change of diet, dealing with negative problems, etc.).   Are you currently taking any chemical antibiotics?

Sorry for all the questions  :-)     If you have any questions, let me know, okay?

Good luck to you!
Denise

Hi Hiker 53 - Maybe it's lyme brain, but what is CNS/PNS? Also, good luck and let me know how things are going from time to time.

Hi Denise - I stopped all abx. I do have a couple questions, what kind of detoxing do you do & what changes in diet? Also, are you still taking Jernigan supplements since you are in remission?

Thanks - Lisa

Hi Lisa,

CNS/PNS is one of Dr. J's Neuro-Antitox Formula's.  You can read about it below:

http://abc.eznettools.net/jernigannutraceuticals/which_antitox.html

I strongly suggest buying Dr. J's book as not only the entire protocol is there but Dr. J's explains about chronic lyme disease and how to understand it.   He also addresses other topics that really help!  You can buy his book below:

www.hansacenter.com

No, I stopped taking Dr. J's botanicals years ago.  I still continue to detox on a daily basis, exercise, eat as healthy as I can (mostly organic or veggies), no sugar (I don't need the weight gain!), I drink Green Vibrance every day as well as DE (Diatomaceous Earth) mixed with the Green Vibrance.  There are different types of DE so buy the food grade one if you are going to add this.

http://www.earthworkshealth.com/

I take detox baths, foot baths, I dry skin brush daily, and drink the internal detoxing supplements.   I believe exercising is a must if one is strong enough.

I posted this in the Newbie Section but here it is again, hope this helps!

Detoxing Instructions:

Buy:

Thermometer
Natural Fiber Brush (for dry skin brushing to open up all the pores of the body)
Epsom Salts
Hydrogen Peroxide (bottles of them)
Baking Soda
Mustard Powder
Cayenne Pepper
Supplements (I use Green Vibrance ~ can be bought at the Vitamin Shoppe).

1.  Detox Bath:  Put the thermometer in the water to make sure the temperature is around 98 degrees, not hotter.  (You do not want HOT water as that can make you feel worse).

As the water is running, add 4 cups of Epsom Salts and entire bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide (32 oz., food grade is 3%).

Some people add Baking Soda (makes the body alkaline).  Yes, all these ingredients get absorbed through one's pores.  Your skin is the largest living organ.

Before getting into the bath, you will need a Natural Fiber Brush and do a "dry skin brushing" to unclog your pores always brushing toward your heart, don't forget to brush the soles of your feet too!

The Epsom Salts help draw out the toxins and at the same time the magnesium absorbs into your bloodstream, most people do not have enough magnesium.   The Hydrogen Peroxide adds oxygen into your bloodstream which lyme spirochetes hate.  Try to stay in the bath a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes, the longer, the better.

Most people feel "worse" during the first week of detox baths and eventually feel better since it is a cumulative effect.

*One bath is not going to accomplish anything, baths must be started off slowly to see how one handles it and slowly built up (at least 5 days a week is good).

2.  Foot Bath:  There are so many "recipes" for foot baths, you can have fun with them and I do them when I am sitting at my computer or knitting on my couch relaxing.

***The Soles of the Feet have the most pores compared to any other part of the body (about 2000 pores per foot)***

Do this 2 to 3 times a day or more if you can for at least 30 minutes.

Recipe #1:  Mustard/Pepper Bath:  Mix "HOT" water in a basin with Dry Mustard Powder (1 tablespoon) and Cayenne Pepper (1 teaspoon) and soak for at least 30 minutes just enough water to cover the bottoms of your feet.

Recipe #2:  1 cup of Epsom Salts and 1/2 cup of Hydrogen Peroxide.  First brush the soles of your feet before putting them into a basin filled with Hot water with the other ingredients and soak for 30 minutes.

3.  Dry Skin Brush:  Once again, a natural fiber brush (can be found at any drug store), brush your entire body toward your heart.  Purpose: Getting rid of dead skin that are clogging your pores and keeping toxins inside.

4.  Internal Cleansing:   Paragone is a good product to get rid of parasites that come from drinking water, eating red meat, raw fish, and processed foods.  I also like "living clay" or bentonite clay to drink internally but please read the instructions as it must be taken on an empty stomach.  It is a fantastic binder of toxins and heavy metals and your body will not only eliminate them but also rid your body of parasites as well.  I also take Aloe Master.

NOTE:  People on antibiotics should NOT drink any type of clay.

5.  Building Immune System:  I drink Green Vibrance Powder (contains billions of probiotics), very expensive but well worth every penny because of all the ingredients. I also take Vitamin C,  B Complex, Omega-3 capsules, and other supplements.

When a person is sick with any illness it robs the body of these much-needed nutrients.

When a person's immune system gets stronger, their body is more capable of fighting off bacteria's and viruses on their own.  Yes, lyme disease causes viruses too.

6.  Diet:  Avoid all sugar, alcohol, breads, carbs as they convert into sugar, try to eat healthy and avoid acidic foods (soda - any type is the worse thing a person could put into their body), very acidic.  Drink as much filtered water as possible (adding fresh lemon is very good), at least 6 glasses a day (I don't believe in bottled water, they say it's really tap water, I personally like the Brita Water Filter Canister).

7.  Stress:  Stress is detrimental to anyone's health and to try to eliminate as much stresses from your life can only benefit you.  Of course there are stresses one cannot avoid but one can learn how to deal with it in a healthier fashion, having a stressful day?  Learn deep breathing exercises, watch a funny movie.

Good book to buy for stress is 60-Second ****zu: The Natural Way to Energize, Erase Pain, and Conquer Tension in One Minute (Paperback) by Eva Shaw

8.  When you feel strong enough, try to start exercising even if it is only yoga as stretching is so good for you and also relaxing.  There is meditation if you can't exercise.   As you build up your immune system you will get strong enough to do whatever exercise of you like.

Purpose:  you are getting oxygen into your bloodstream and lyme bacteria's hate oxygen!  Plus the extra benefits of exercise is it makes you feel good mentally because it naturally raises your serotonin levels and takes away depression.

9.  Find a licensed Lymphatic Drainage Therapist, LDT is another fantastic way to rid your body of toxins.

If you can start doing some of these things, your body will love you for it and you will start feeling so good!

10.  Positive thinking -  It takes training of the mind but you if really want to do it, you can.  We all have choices on how we view life, one can choose to be negative, angry or bitter or just accept that you are ill because acceptance is half the battle with any disease and leads to a more healthy way of life by dealing with it.

What this does for Lyme:  the answer is by detoxing you are ridding your body of the toxins and ammonia that lyme bacteria's cause.  By building up your immune system, your body can start killing off the bacteria's on it's own.

Extras:

Juicing
detox foot pads
sauna (if you have access to one)
liver/gallbladder cleanse
colonics
coffee enema
massage
lymph drainage
rebounders
organic body products
water testing
parasite cleanse (paragone)
candida cleanse
essential oils for detoxification
magnet therapy for electromagnetic stress

Some products that reduce toxic load on the body are Dr. Jernigan's Neuro Antitox and also Molybdenum is helpful.

Detoxifying is much like exercising, you need to do it regularly and in consistent doses in order to get results. You won't get miracle results from one-time use.

Hi Denise - thanks for the info. I did print the info you listed a while ago, but I'm glad you posted it again because it is in one of my many LD folders & I would have to search for it. I purchased the Borrelogen; musculo neuro-antitox II; BCI beyond chelation; TPP protease & some oils. If you don't mind responding again, what do you think of the items I purchased, and should I include anything else, in your opinion.

Also, is avoiding sugar a must? It's so hard.

Thanks - Lisa

Lisa,

I did not completely avoid sugar. Yes it would be better if you could, but I have a hard time giving up my chocolate. Eat as healthy as you can. The CNS/PNS is an important part to Dr. J's program as it is what breaks down the ammonia so the liver can better detox.

Hiker53,

Do be patient with this program - you would not expect to be better on an abx program in a couple of weeks.

I will be watching for your posts. You are both in my thoughts.

Be Well,
Wacko Woman

I have been on it for a month and have noticed no difference yet. Good or bad.

I also take abx for 2 months, and some Buhner herbs as well. Nothing has helped me yet.

Hi Melb1 and welcome! This is a really old thread and maybe it would be better to start a new thread about Dr. Jernigan's protocol?

So you can read about others who used this protocol besides myself I am going to bump up some members threads (posts) regarding their experiences.

Utahgal, I'm not sure if you are on Jernigan's to wean yourself off abx (which is what most members have done) or you plan on staying on abx. So I'm a bit confused about what you plan of action is?? I think taking abx and Jernigans are counter-acting each other. Abx are poisons and Jernigan products bind up the poisons or toxins (the Neuro-Antitox products). Borrelogen and Microbojen bind up the lyme antigens so one can purge them out of their body.

Below are words from a friend of mine from years ago (today she is still healthy and does not have lyme disease):

"I'm happy to say that I'm done with antibiotics. I have been off them for a month now, and I'm never taking them again. I am taking Dr. Jernigan's borrelogen and neuro anti-tox three times a day, and I am eating right and taking care of myself. I finally have my life back.

I feel pretty good, a few minor things that I have to address once in a while, but nothing I can't live with. I am definitely living my life fully and doing the things that I need to do. I can work, exercise, garden, golf, read, sing with the worship team, survive my piano lessons with my meticulous chinese teacher, drive the kids around all day and walk the whole mall if I have to, etc.

There are two things I can't do anymore, but I don't care. One is run (jogging) I just can't do that right now because it makes my heart pound like mad, and the other is eat junk, but I don't miss that at all.

I realize now that I will likely always have lyme in my body, but I don't have to have lyme disease. I don't have to have pain and fatigue and brain fog if I regulate a few important things. The things I regulate are: my pH, my body temperature, and my diet.

Taking antibiotics for so long made my body into a war zone, and it is a battle I can't completely win. The die off and the toxins were killing me and wrecking my quality of life because of the pain. The yeast was getting a hold on me finally too, and I definitely don't want a chronic candida problem on top of everything else. Bye bye antibiotics.

I have to supplement the thyroid and adrenals because they are too beat up from 25 years of lyme having its way with me. I also take a liquid multivitamin, hemp oil, and wobenzyme. And the borrelogen and neuro anti-tox.

Every morning I exercise, I go in my sauna and every morning I pray to God to guide me and show me what to do to be well (and I pray for all of you too). That's how I start my day. Every night I have a detox bath and I use essential oils to address any aches or troubles (like that ear thing we all talk about). Oregano is my favorite oil, but it's caustic if used straight so I have to dilute it with a carrier oil like almond or jojoba. Essential oils are amazing! I have about forty of them, and I use them all.

I eat live raw fruits and veggies, nuts and grains throughout the day. Uncooked means lots of enzymes and that is a great thing for staying healthy. I have some really good recipes, the food is not boring and now that I've been eating this way, I love it. I drink ginger tea, green tea, cinnamon tea, and lemon water. I eat organic foods and I don't eat white sugar or white flour. At night I eat a cooked meal with my family, but no pork and no shellfish because they are not really clean foods and I don't want to subject my body to them. No deep fried foods either.

The things I eat that I probably shouldn't but I don't really care are: organic black coffee in the morning, organic sulfite-free wine on the weekends, and organic dark chocolate (orange flavored is the best) whenever I want a treat. I know caffeine and alcohol are not so good for me, but I have these things anyway. I take extra molybdenum on the weekends when I know I'm going to have a drink. It helps get rid of the amaldehydes that are created.

This is my story, this is what's working for me right now. You all who know me know that I am not saying that I think people who take antibiotics are making bad choices or doing something they shouldn't. Everyone has to follow their own path and find out what they need and what they want to do.

I just want you to know that I'm doing this, and my life is good again. I'm going to keep doing this and teach my kids how to do it too.

Wishing good health to all of you, no matter what route you are taking to find it."

Hope this helps!
Denise

I am taking the Jernigan's in addition to the abx. I thought it might help my immune system and the CNS/PNS detox.

I didn't think it would be counterproductive with abx. I thought it might be a helpful addition.

Hi again Utahgal,

Sorry, meant to get back to you! Anyway, the neuro-antitox botanical would be good to take with the abx and they bind up toxins.

There are many ways to build your immune system: eating raw foods (organic), cutting sugar out (hard to do especially with the holidays upon us), exercise (if you can), getting good sleep (easier said then done), detox baths, foot baths, dry skin brushing, you know the detox methods.

A good green drink with probiotics (my personal favorite is Green Vibrance). Juicing, blending organic greens, etc.

Lowering stress levels (we all have stress).. I take yoga classes (sorry, I have to laugh because if you saw me on that mat stretching out my arms and legs it's a funny site!) Or do something you find really relaxing... I also exercise (I do aerobic walking though I know many are not capable of doing that) and I feel great afterward (raises the serotonin in my brain)...

Maybe we should start a new thread on how to strengthen our immune system??

Hope this helps,
Denise
