I like to read more about Lyme. Which books do you recommend?
EM rash oct. 24 2007, 10-30-08: doxy 100 mg. bid for three weeks. Felt better, but symptoms slowly got back and much worse
2-21-08 until 4-23-08: doxy 100 mg. bid (described by family doctor)
4-24-08: start doxy 200 mg. bid and Biaxin XL 1000 mg once a day (seeing an Infectious Disease Doctor)
8-8-08 until 8-21-08: adding Flagyl 500 mg. bid
8-21-08: off all ABX
9-17-08: doing herbs but symptoms slowly reappeared,so started Biaxin 500 mg. bid on 9-17-08

My favorites so far are:

"The Homeopathic Treatment of Lyme Disease," by Peter Alex
"Healing Lyme: Natural Healing And Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis And Its Coinfections," by Stephen Harod Buhner
"Cure Unknown: Inside the Lyme Epidemic," by Pamela Weintraub

And check out the documentary, "Under Our Skin" - http://www.underourskin.com/

Take care,

look on this web site for all of the books that they recc. there are a bunch.
My favorite is Coping with Lyme Disease by Denise Lang. third edition.
Why? It is very informative and positive. Some of the other books out there, Like Cure Unknown, a very good read, will leave you hiding under your covers sobbing for weeks.
And I don't have to tell you, the ending is terrible.
So it depends a lot on your mental state, if your tough, or if you need a hug. I have read both and highlighted them both like crazy. The movie that is the rage now is called "Under our skin" it is sad. And scary. But one gets the false impression that Dr.s do not care that they are sick and that only Dr.s who are going to give you huge doses of abx want you to live.
It is all a bit confusing. But the more you read on line or at home, the better understanding you will have about the mess we are all in. Go on line and read about the ILADS for starters. Lots of arguing going on out there and no answers for all the kids that are suffering.
This is like AIDS all over again.
I got Lymes in 2004. So did my 11 mos old daughter and my favorite dog Toto.
