Hello Minx,

I just found the bog by the Lyme physician in Georgetown, Maryland. I would appreciate information on what you think of this physician. I live in Chester County, PA and was most likely infected in 1995 or before. Became suddenly ill in 1995, eventually diagnosed with Fibro and CFS which was incorrect. I have been treated for Lyme off and on since 2003. Last year started on IV's and have been for 13 months, with some improvement, but with continuing problems and an unresolving case of Babesia. Anyway, that is all I feel is appropriate to post so if you could email me I would really appreciate it.
I found his blog and posts interesting (didn't understand it all). He sounded like he would be good with his patients, something I need. He would also be within a reasonable distance. So, please email me if you can.

Thanks,

keenanb@comcast.net

Hi bcaring--

I was interested in the doctor form Germantown too after reading his blog so I googled him and read some ratings from patients and they were all negative.  Have you heard differently from anyone?  Germantown is only 15 minutes away from me so I'd be interested to hear any positive remarks.  Let me know if know anything different.  Thanks!

Hey Marylandgirl,

Shoot, I was hoping to hear some positive feedback. It certainly sounded impressive. Maybe Minx knows something?

Never seen him. He has LYme himself. Seems to want to help. He tries different things. Wants the patient to stick with him to get them well.

That's not so different than others.

Let's face it. There is not enough research about Lyme disease.

Hello bcaring

I will email you about this doc.

Marylandgirl--When you say you googled this doc and found negative ratings were you referring to ratemds.com? I saw that too before I went to my initial appointment. Some of the reviews sounded the same and I thought they might be from the same person who might want to paint a negative picture for their own personal reasons.--Just my opinion. I do like the doc and his staff. He seems to be very passionate about Lyme and is always learning. I think he is a good and caring man. I have only seen him a few times so I am nowhere near better. He seems to follow Dr. B's guidelines, although he does not recommend his patients to take tons of supplements. He feels you can if you wish, but probably not necessary since others have done well without.

Take care! Minx

Thanks, Minx.  I think the posts sound like they could be coming from the same person, too.  It's good to hear that you have been happy with him so far.  How long did it take to get an appointment with him?  Does he take any insurance?  Thank you for following up with me.

Hi Marylandgirl

I think you can get an appointment within a week or two. I got one within that time. Things might be changing since there is a huge increase of new patients looking for primary care in this area. A local PCP group is converting to Personalized Health Care and getting rid of thousands of patients. I just had an appointment with LymeMd yesterday and the secretary said a lot of new patients are calling.

He does take insurance, but I don't know which ones. I have Aetna HMO (unfortunately) and he does not take that--I don't blame him!

Take care.
