kendal-I work in a drug store and we do sell natural pills for sleep. One is made my Hylands. I have no idea what is in it but the box says its natural. I think there also are some other ones in the sleeping aid section. Not sure if any of them work or not. I use lunesta and it works great.

Hylands makes something called Calms Forte that is supposed to be good for sleep. It is homeopathic medicine, so no side-effects.

Other natural sleep-aids include melatonin, magnesium and/or calcium supplements (taken close to bedtime), 5HTP/Tryptophan, Valarian Root, Passion Flower ( see http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/PrintablePages/herbMonograph/0,11475,4101,00.html ), GABA, Rescue Remedy, etc.

The best melatonin has worked for me when taken in combination with magnesium. I'm also seeing sleep benefits from glutamine infusions (an unexpected and welcome side-effect!).

Take care,

A women getting treated for cancer said that 2.5 mg of melatonin worked...I have yet to go and get this stuff for I am taking so much stuff already. I have to get off of my ambien asap.....
Everyone with lyme has such a hard time getting to sleep. And it is so odd how some stuff works so well for some and not at all for others. Like one of my friends with lyme has not slept in a week and even ambien 10mg does not work for her.
The ambien is great for me, but since I have had such bad probles with my memory in the past I want to get off of it too.
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

Oh and don't watch TV right before bed. It is too stimulating.

I take a good quality Valerian from the Vitamin Shoppe. I use the capsules or the liquid. It is smelly, but I feel it works for milder insomnia.

Greetings kendal122,

>>> Does any one know if there is a natural pill you can take to help you sleep?

I would recommend you Melatrol. Melatrol has combined quality natural ingredients to combat your insomnia on a long term basis: compounds such as melatonin and gamma amino butyric acid are commonly found in healthy people, however many individuals do not produce enough of these compounds, and as a result experience trouble falling asleep and sleeping through the night.

Try this URL: http://www.elprime.com/melatrol

L-Tryptophan works the best, of the things you can buy in the health food store.
The most excellent sleeping aid I have ever tried is Dr. Zhang's Herbsom. I don't know why I got insomnia again but this herb is a lifesaver.

kendal122, yes, I use Melatrol for more than year, and it works fine for me. I usually order it using the URL mentioned above. This online store has fast delivery and good reputation, AFAIK.
