I was getting a lot of symptoms back and started doxy again.  I am supposed to take the IGENEX test for bart next week.   Should I be off the doxy before I take if?  If so, how long?
Thanks.

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and no one responded. But I think it would depend on the type of test. If it is a test to look for the stuff in your blood, then yes you should not be on doxy. How long off? I don't know. If it is to look for titers, being on doxy may not be harmful.

Thanks seeingstars, that makes sense. The doctor told me to take the test to check antibodies to see if I have ever had it. As doxy does not affect bartonella very much (I don't think), maybe it would not make a difference to stay on it. I guess I can tell the lab and the doctor that I am on it again, just in case.

There are two tests. The cheapest (which I am getting) is about $120 and checks for antibodies (I believe). The other test looks for the pathogen in the blood and it is over $200.
