Hi everyone...it's been a VERY long time since I've been here...

I haven't been doing anything - including getting retested or starting any new protocols. I guess the only thing that's truly been happening is the seemingly inevitable decline of my health.

My cognitive problems are so terrible...my legs, feet, toes, arms, hands, fingers all only work for so long before they just give out. It's like they only have a certain amount of energy, and then my brain said **** you - I'm not helping you out anymore.

I'm considering getting retested (for the third time) to see if what I have is really lyme or not...I had some positive lyme specific bands...but not enough to be diagnosed.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen symptoms disappear...or if you can only halt progression...this is a huge question for me...I'm ready to throw in the towel...more ready than I ever have been before.

You need to see a Lyme dr asap! The 2 Lyme tests you had done the Elsa and the Westernblot are NOT accurate when returning a negative. You can and will be diagnosed on overwhelming symptoms alone and the exclusion of other diseases if you see a LLMD.

You need to see a good LLMD to be tested. I was treated several times, once in 2003 and it was not long enough to clear up my symptoms, and again in 2004 by a doctor who was only willing to treat for 90 days - again not long enough considering how bad I was.

I played with off and on treatment for several years, nothing consistent and not overseen by a knowledgeable LLMD. By spring 2007 I felt as if I was dying or moving on to ALS. I went into treatment for 14 months and am 80% better.

Your symptoms are serious and you should call to get an appointment today. You cannot give up. Being worn down and depressed by what you are experiencing makes it tough to be pro-active for yourself.

If you need recommendations for a good LLMD contact Ticker.

Please follow the advice posted and see a LLMD. I have read so many posts, articles (and even books!) about people such as yourself incorrectly diagnosed and treated. In the beginning ot the book Cure Unknown, that author tells how her little boy was incorrectly diagnosed for years, tests came back negative and when they were finally positive, the doctors did not treat him correctly. He became sicker and she was told it could not be lyme because he should be well.

I've seen an LLMD...several times...got tested twice...only a couple positive bands and very weak positives at that...he wanted to treat with abx but I just feel that is so dangerous...I did doxy and a strict diet w/supplements for a couple months...even went gluten free...no change...

You should not be focusing on just lyme. Often we end up with co-infections that are worse than the lyme. You may not have seen much improvement on doxy because that is not the miracle drug for later stage lyme and co-inf. It'll be a nice one in a combo but not by itself. I would say read up on co-inf. and see a llmd and discuss the possibility of co-inf. You go after those and then you'll start to get your life back. As far as abx being dangerous- not treating this stuff is far more.

wishing you well

I did get tested for co-infections and everything wag negative...

Is it really terrible to consider going to natural route? Can anyone speak of getting better without antibiotics?

I have at least one co-infect and tested neg. Those tests are just as bad as the lyme one. NOT fool proof. As far as natural treatment someone else will have to discuss this with you. I am one of those that believe you need abx to combat this stuff.

You MUST see a LLMD who will treat symptoms and not tests. I was practically dragging my entire left side for 3 years and had extreme neurological issues. I have had lyme for 18+years and just began treatment 5 years ago. After seeing over 30 specialists--It wasn't until I started to treat babesiosis and bartonella along with lyme that I began to get better. I was forced to pay out of pocket for a LLMD because the traditional ignorant medical professionals failed me miserably. It is worth it even if you have to mortgage your home to get better. There is light and hope and healing. It is not quick but it will come. It won't come if you do nothing. Blessings
