What do you mean exactly? Glands......
Waht abx are you on?
How does it hurt? when? eating? moving? all the time? swallowing? have you had your dr. look at it?
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

My first thought was....lymph node.
You have them in your neck, and under your arms...and mid chest...and stomach...and behind your knees.
Just a guess...I am not a Dr. but lets say that your abx are working...and your glands are clogged with all of the dead lyme. So this would cause some irration.
At the clinic I get what is called Lymphatic Dranage sometimes twice a week.
And this is supposed to keep the pipes clean..and it also prevents back up and swelling...
So maybe this would help you out.
I think of it as my drano....:>)
It does make sense.
It is a small wand that sends out a electrical pulse, it sort of zaps, and it of course is painless....
the jelly they rub on you in a freezing room is very annoying...:>) Takes about 30 minutes.
I have to get them.....I now wear warm socks..:>)

The lymph nodes under my jaw and my throat. Constant uncomfortable feeling like achy. Can feel they are swollen. Saw my llmd last week and she said it may just be a virus so we are waiting to see. I was just wondering if anyone had expierenced glands/lymph node pain with thier Lyme. Early on I had headaches behind both my ears for weeks and I have pain under my right arm off and on since being diagnosed which I know these are all lymph node areas. I was just wondering if anyone else shared this expierence. Thanks

Oh... I have been treating lyme for ten months using several different antibiotics and natural remedies. Currently I am on Cefurocxime and Zithromax as well as vitamins for energy and immune support. We were considering tapering of the antibiotics for a little bit and  doing a cleanse and some immune support since I have been doing a little better the last couple of months but this glands in the neck issue just came up about a 1 1/2-2 weeks ago.

If you have co-inf. the combo you are on is not very helpful for them. Oral zithro is not very effective for some co-inf. ( I speak from experience) and cef. doesn't work on co-inf to my knowledge.

It's possible a co-inf. is rearing it's nasty little head.

Thanks for the help. I'm just wondering if this is a common symptom or is it pretty uncommon to have multiple lymph node discomfort and swelling related to lyme or coinfections. If coinfections which ones specifically would be helpful. We have done some treating of Bart but we may need more...I dont think I'll be taking a break from antibiotics as soon as I hoped :) She was using Zithro for treating the bart as I had a horrible reaction to Rifampin? I have been on the Cefr. For many months and She has used it as a combo with biaxin and bicillin shots with me to treat i think mostlymy nuero symptoms.

Hi Crystalmarie,

Yes the lyme attacks the lymph nodes and the swelling is the body raising the white blood cells against
the infection. I have had the side of my neck sticking out an inch where they glands got swollen
I also get lumps under the armpits too.

Ponder-

Thanks so much for that info....I was wondering if anyone else expierenced this as well. I have had that pain under my arm pit for months and even went to the cardiologist and everything was fine. Now with my swollen neck glands I'm starting to think its all lymph node inflammation. I just needed to see if anyone else was going through this...Thanks so much

Just found your post and wondering how you are doing with the under arm pain? I am just recently diagnosed with lyme which I have had for 3+ years. For second time since starting treatment, my under arm is tender to touch and upon raising arm. did you pain go away? How are you feeling?

Springjean,

Crystal hasn't logged on since May.

I have the underarm pain myself though. This all started for me when I started treatment. It's swollen Lymph nodes. Mine are swollen under my arms and on the sides of my neck, right under my ears. They get so painful under my arms that sometimes I can barely put my arm down all the way.

P.S.- She has email. If you'd like to email her, click on her name and it bring you to her email.

I have these in my groin that can be very painful at times. I actually had one taken out just in case it was something else. It was benign inflammation, is what the report said. I think mine are from Lyme and mine can be very painful. You do have Lymph nodes in your groin too and I also remember reading that Bart specifically can case lymph node swelling in the groin and neck??? Could be wrong on that one but you are aren't alone on the lymph node swelling.

Hello, When I posted that I was having horrible swollen glands in my neck and under my left arm I had xrays and because of other symptoms on my left side even went to have my heart checked at a cardiologist, all tests showed nothing abnormal since i have been doing very well the last few months the swollen glands have subsided i do therefore think it was definilty a symptom of the lyme infection.

Hey CrystalMarie,

Welcome back! I'm glad you're feeling better. How long did you have the swollen glands? I'm hoping the swelling goes away for me soon too. It can get pretty painful.

Hi Crystal,

So happy you are better!

Until I started antibiotics 3 weeks ago, the nodes in my arm pits were swollen and very painful. I thought I had cancer! I am better now but I do have swelling in my groin area off and on and, ironically today...my throat!

I guess this disease likes to play with us! As soon as we think we have on pain under control (or at least figured out) another appears.

Very pleased you are getting relief!
