I'm trying to figure out why my arms feel so weak. I've been trying to work them with five lb. weights, but suddenly after doing this, they're sore and weak and tire easily from emptying the dishwasher.

My shoulder seems to have cartilage tears or something. Over the summer, when I first got Lyme, I had some mobility issues. Now when I do so much as reach up for a pencil on my desk --- cccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrunch! I don't feel like seeing yet another doctor. My LLMD seems to think just keep moving it so it doesn't get "frozen."

It crunches without being used much at all. The five lb. weights may have made things worse. That is so very odd.

Thoughts on my shoulder and arm?

I did eat more sweets than is usual for me. I had a couple pieces of cake over the weekend along with a pancake with syrup. Don't know if that's related. Also, I am having my period.

Hi hopingToFindCure.  Do you have Babesiosis?  When I had muscle weakness like you describe, it was from Babesiosis.

Monthly cycles can cause symptoms to be worse for many women.  Make sure you are documenting your symptoms daily.  Over time when you review this information, you can see when your herxes occur and how you are responding to the meds.

What meds are you taking?

I also have very weak arms. I have a strong build but my muscles do not work properly. When I try and use my muscles I get tremors and I have the strength of an old lady.

i have very lax joints and my llmd says it is the disease.  i have a drooping right shoulder and snapping scapula syndrome and my ankles, neck, knees are like rice cripsies - always popping. i am always at physical therapy working on one body part or another. right now it is my thighs calves and upper arms - full of knots and my extremities fatigue so easily. i am herxing right now - just started back on abx after about a year absence - amd my arms are weak and painful.  my doctor thought i might have babs too, like ticker, but since my new tests show persitent lyme and third tier erlychiosis, i guess he is focusing on these right now.  the babs was negative but we all know how tests go.  keep exercising if you can and really try to maintain proper posture - these have helped me keep on going.  good luck.

ticker - tested negative for babs from two labs.

i'm on biaxin 1000 and doxy 400

daily

My arms are stronger today. Probably because I was at work and didn't pay attention. Shoulder still pops. Spin goes crunch. I think my neck is all but shattered to be honest.

Oh well.

What is third tier erlichiosis? I know the co-infection, just have heard that expression.

Thanks - Beth
