I was hoping I might be able to find some advice (and hope) about all of the weight I have gained while dealing with Lyme, Bart. & Bab. Over the past year I have gained almost 50 lbs. None of my clothes fit and the weight only adds to my depression and the feeling that I have lost control over ALL aspects of my life. I know that there are much more serious issues to be talked about here... but none the less am hoping for some advice. Is there any way I can lose the weight while being treated? My currents meds are: Mepron, Zithromax and Ceftin. Has anyone else experienced so much weight gain? Have or were you able to lose the weight?

I hear you both!!!

I lost weight some time ago, within half a year about 12 kg, everybody was after me trying to convince me that "this" is kind of anorexia .....NO, it was NOT!! within all this I really got disappointed with some people I really liked because they did not stop analizing me in a very boring pseudo- scientific way.
I got my weight back, very slowly though. One of my friends started to gain weight constantly at the same time when I lost my kilos; in the end we looked like a "crasy couple" after a weird kind of bodymass- transformation ...LOL; she got tested for lyme lately because she has developed a "nervous tick" since then (and came out with positive IGg ); we both are in organic grown food; she is loosing her weight very slowly again since last year; she has a chronic sinusitis and was taking different meds for it which may also have fought lyme - so we think there is a connection.
Its said that there is kind of difference which type of calories led to ones overweight and if it is not due to high sugar / fat consuming, the body is in an easier position to burn the weight away again.

For me one thing is very clear: all of us, no matter if we gained or lost weight, are still and nevertheless beatiful!!! And that we are more than our bodies goes without saying as well as that we will keep on fighting and supporting one another!!!!
Hugs to all! dorit

I gained alot of weight when I was first diagnosed, my doctor felt is was due to my high cortisol levels, they did resolve with treatment, I also think that the orals and Iv's didnt help my weight gain, for me it was very bad as I also became diabetic and high blood pressure, but all issues are much better now
