XO: On the left under your  user name you will see a picture of an envelope. Some people have their email addresses in there.  D

Actually Dowa, it was to you that I wanted to send a message!
But the envelope under your name is unavailable.

I just wanted to chat with you about the burning sensation we just talked about and a reply you had in another post where someone had asked about a feeling of vibration:
"I was working with a holistic doctor that thought the saliva test was more accurate, the reason is that the levels change throughout the day and when they test your blood, its am and pm only. I had the blood levels done and was told it was normal and my saliva test showed I was near adrenall exhaustion. I would do the saliva method."

There was a doctor who I saw last Fall that ran a slew of tests and one of the more intriguing tests had to do with my adrenal function. Among other things, he said the level of Epinephrine that my body is producing is exceptionally high. This and some other things that were off are keeping me in a constantly "exhausted startled" state.

Can I ask what tests you had done that indicated adrenal exhaustion? It seems similar and I wonder if it is correlated to the common sensation we have.

Thanks, Danni

Danni: You are talking about neuro-transmitters.Thats interesting because my epinephrine is low.
I dont know exactly how neuro-transmitters and your adrenals work together. The test is called Adrenal Stress Index by Diagnos-tech, Inc. out of Washington State. Their phone number is 425-251-0596. It shows your cortisol release. The saliva is collected  four times throughout the day. Let me know if you have it done, we'll see if that may be the cause. Good luck-D

2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

Thanks MV!

Dowa - Yes, it was a neurotransmitter test from NeuroScience/Pharmasan Labs. Same thing - collect saliva four times a day but some of the tests used a urine sample.

It showed that my DHEA, Cortisol, Serotonin & HIAA were too low and very high levels of Epinephrine, GABA and PEA. Unsure as to what all of this means but it must explain some of the things going on. I recognize that these neurotransmitters are out of whack because of the Lyme or co-infections.

Maybe someone can clarify what happens when each of the neurotransmitters is out of range?

Strange, my epinephrine is low but other levels are similar to yours. I know that with low seratonin it can cause joint pain and depression, also insomnia. My holistic doc suggested tryptophan, I have not tried it yet. Of course, Lyme can cause all of this as well. To me that is what is so difficult about all of this, the symptoms are so similar for many different conditions. I also was exposed to toxic mold and seratonin will be decreased from any environment exposure as well. D
