Hi All,
I just got a call with my CD-57 results.  It was 34 (LabCorp).  My first CD57 which was done 1 1/2 years ago before treatment started was a 76, I was taking Cat's Claw for Tendinitis for 6 months before I was diagnosed with LD.  Cat's Claw is suppose to boost your CD-57 results, and I think my first results were higher because of that reason.  I have been on Dr. Zhang's for 6 months and have seen some improvements.  I was hoping to see a number that reflected that.  I am discouraged at this point.

2001 symptoms started:
Tingling in fingers and toes both sides, not tested at that time for LD
2007 Summer tested pos. WB, diagnosed with LD, tested neg for co-infections thru Igenex
Abx - Doxy 100mg 2x/day for 3 weeks (before diagnosis)
Amoxicillin 1gm 2x/day for 1 month
Amoxicillin 1gm 3x/day with Probenecid 500mg 2x/day  5 months
Currently on Dr. Zhang's protocol

Hi KO.  According to Dr. Burrascano, the CD-57 number does not go up steadily during treatment but jumps once the infection is under control.  He discusses this on page 8 of his guidelines at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

I would go by how you feel and not by this test result.  The important thing is that you are noticing improvement--this is good news!

Hi KO,

In October 2007 my CD 57 was 115 and I felt horrible.  In February 2009 I am feeling better (after 3 months of biaxin, tindamax and omnicef) and my CD 57 was 36.

My son who has the most autoimmune issues of us all and who the dr. thinks is the most complex was 120 in February 2009.

I know I am in a much better place than 6 months ago so something good is happening.

I share this with you to offer encouragement.
