Hi RottenDog, welcome to the board!

I am sorry you and your dog have Lyme.  Is your dog getting treated?  How long have you been sick?  Did the MRI show lesions on your brain?  Lyme disease can cause these.  I don't know if your eye problem could be related, but a Lyme knowledgeable doctor would probably know.

Below is a Lyme symptom list.  You can have any combination of symptoms.

Unexplained fevers, sweats, chills, or flushing
Unexplained weight change--loss or gain
Fatigue, tiredness, poor stamina
Unexplained hair loss
Swollen glands
Sore throat
Testicular pain/pelvic pain
Unexplained menstrual irregularity
Unexplained milk production: breast pain
Irritable bladder or bladder dysfunction
Sexual dysfunction or loss of libido
Upset stomach
Change in bowel function-constipation, diarrhea
Chest pain or rib soreness
Shortness of breath, cough
Heart palpitations, pulse skips, heart block
Any history of a heart murmur or valve prolapse?
Joint pain or swelling
Stiffness of the joints, neck, or back
Muscle pain or cramps
Twitching of the face or other muscles
Headache
Neck creeks and cracks, neck stiffness, neck pain
Tingling, numbness, burning or stabbing sensations, shooting pains
Facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy)
Eyes/Vision: double, blurry, increased floaters, light sensitivity
Ears/Hearing: buzzing, ringing, ear pain, sound sensitivity
lncreased motion sickness, vertigo, poor balance
Lightheadedness, wooziness
Tremor
Confusion, difficulty in thinking
Difficulty with concentration, reading
Forgetfulness, poor short term memory
Disorientation: getting lost, going to wrong places
Difficulty with speech or writing
Mood swings, irritability, depression
Disturbed sleep-too much, too little, early awakening
Exaggerated symptoms or worse hangover from alcohol

It is very important to see a knowledgeable doctor.  Many doctors do not understand Lyme and treat with outdated protocols.  Infectious disease doctors are not usually the best to see unless they specialize in tick-borne diseases.

Besides Lyme, ticks can also transmit several co-infections including Babesiosis, two types of Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma.  Many people who have Lyme are co-infected.  It may affect treatment choice and progress.  It is important to be tested for these by a Lyme reputable lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA.  Have you been tested for these?

If you need a doctor recommendation, you can email me at ko_@bellsouth.net

It is also important to learn as much as possible.  I recommend reading Dr. Joseph Burrascano's 2008 Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines For Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf  He is one of the top Lyme doctors in the country, and many Lyme doctors follow his protocols. I also recommend the books "The Lyme Disease Solution" by Kenneth B. Singleton M.D. and "Everything You Need To Know about Lyme Disease Second Edition" by Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner.

Hang in there okay?  Good help is available, and you are not alone.

Thank you for all this info.

I found out my dog had lymes last year. he was on anitys for a month then retested and showed sings of inprovment, lucky guy.he dose have joint pain still, but he is also very old.

last time i remeber either of us haven a tick was 6 or 7 years ago, no rash dont remeber being sick afterwords. it was about the same time as 9/11. I was told 20 years ago i had RA so I didnt think much about my pain due to the RA. but in the last 2 years i havent been able to walk much if at all. blew out my right knee, had sergery on it 1 year ago. still not walking well. about 3 weeks ago i started with the numbness of my ring finger on my left hand. not sure if its from the things in my brain or not.
as for the lesions on my brain, they found 10 to 15 of them I see a nero sergen this week for that. think they plan to do a biopys of them. also of the 1 arounf my eye.

I just know i hurt all over, like i am 1 giant bruse everywhere. as for sleep whats that..lol I cant remeber the last time i slept 8 hours thro. I am lucky to get 6 hours and thats waking up 2 or 3 times.
I have also had headachs for awhile now and started with mygrains a few years ago.

I have a lot of the symptom and with a pov teast it all is starting to make since to me now. as for the doc knowing much about lymes in Texas, well i pray. I know more about lymes then my doc does, he is sending me to a ID.
I have not been able to work for over 2 years now. no one is willing to hirer you when you cant walk or see very well. as of right now i am not able to even have my door open without sunglasses on,light kills me.

when i first did the MIR and got the report back i was scader of cancer now i am thinking this is worst. i dont know but at lest there is a chance to get rid of cancer.dont see anyone saying they are lyme free after they have it.

added to all this I have read i see most are treated with either penn or dixy. i cant take either 1. me and meds dont go good together.

sorry i ramble on, i do that a lot lately.
again thank you all the info

hey rotten
see if you can get on cymbalta for the pain instead. celebrex causes stroke. And cannot be used for more than 3 mos.
start at 30mg and work up to 60.
also look back at the German meds that I was given for lyme.
A nurse on here tried it along with the cymbalta and is fine now.
And don't worry yourself. You are in a good stage to kick this thing back now.
You need to look up the supplements that I posted many times and start feeding your immune system to be able to defend itself against the bacteria.
asap
Think of it as your body going to war. It needs to be armed with good stuff. Or it will not be able to fight.
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

Thank You Martha's Vineyard,

I have been on celebrex since aug. of last yrs. last month my doc did liver test to make sure i was ok there b4 renewing it. i do kwo it helps with the pain as i broke my left elbow 29 yrs ago and have lived with pain in it ever since, but after i started the celebrex i dont have the shooting pain running from my elbow to hand and shoulder anymore. so i would hate to think how bad the pain could really be.

Do you know if celbrex or lymes can couse your collestrol to rise? i have the test done 4 yrs ago and i was as good as you can wish for, but last month test showed i was at stroke lvl now. how can it change so fast. blows me away trigs normai;y should be 50-150 i was at 356 way high. i dont know but its all new to me.

Thanks again.

RD, I think I read that LD can cause high cholesterol but I'm not cetain. I have very high cholesterol also (300) although it's not quite as high as yours. I was taking Vytorin but chose to temporarily stop because there's an interaction between Zithro and cholesterol meds and right now I want to attack the LD as aggressively as I can. Who knows if this was a wise decision on my part or not but it's the choice I made - for now anyway.

What meds are you on?

Rottendog,

A know a few people from Texas who travel to Louisiana to see an LLMD here. I go to him. If you don't think your ID will work out, let me know and I will give you my doctors info.
2003 symptoms started with very intense panic attacks and anxiety. Also had sound and smell sensitivities. Was in and out of the hospital from 2003-2005. Diagnosed with panic disorder.
2007 found an LLMD and was diagnosed with Lyme. Didn't start treatment.
2008 symptoms came back with a vengence. Muscle pain, joint pain, floaters, stiff neck, rib pain, slow thinking, brain fog, etc...
2009 went back to see LLMD. Diagnosed again with Lyme plus co-infections....Babesia and Bartonella.
Illnesses:-Chronic Lyme Disease,Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Ulcers, Hypoglycemia
Medications:-Biaxin 250mg to start (starting slow and working my way up, Mepron(babesia), Ultram(muscle/joint pain), Thyro Complex 60mg(Thyroid), Probiotics ,Caproyl(intestinal candidas),Psyllium Powder(intestinal cleansing support),Bentonite Magma(absorbent aid for intestinal detoxification)
