Hi, My husband and I were in the woods in late February.  19 Days later he had a red, itchy bump (down there...). The next day he had a hot, itchy hive-like rash that lasted about 10 days. He had heart palpitations and chills during this time.  From that point on he had pain in his knees, elbows (joints..) which came and went, had a sudden onset of floaters which are still there. He still feels pressure in his head also.  He is beginning to feel he is losing short term memory and has a general "disconnected" feeling.  He has lost some sensation when it comes to body temperature, smell, and taste. He has had increased insomnia and ambien did not work at all... Right now he is on anxiety medication--- although he was not anxious at all until AFTER having the rash and all of the other symptoms.   The doctor said "It could possibly be lyme."  He did a lyme test and said that it would take a while to have the results.  My question is, that with the symptoms listed should he see a specialist soon, or wait the 3+ weeks to get test results back??  Thank you!!

See a Lyme specialist. There are also many things beside Lyme a tick can carry, such as Babesia, Bartonella, Rocky Mountain spotted fever etc. and Lyme tests often show up negative even when you have Lyme.

Thanks, He had the general test done in the doctors office that came back neg. But I've been told that the one that they have to send out is more valid... so that is the next step!!

DO NOT TRUST a negative test. Find a lyme literate md who will treat this before it gets out of hand. Blessings

IGENEX.com- for sensitive blood work...and FRy labs in AZ for co -infections...sounds like Bart to me with the anxiety issues.

Envita.com- for treatment that worked for me.
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

There are patches that you can wear in the woods, and take vit. B 1 to make the bugs stay away from you.
And wear skin so soft by avon. get it on line....smal green bottle.
Do you have pets? have them checked too. Don't let them sleep in your bed for now.
