Currently my arm is sore in the muscles and tendons. I am going to physical therapy. I thought it might be tendonitis from levaquin but I have had similar pain before, just not as severe or as long. Sometimes I get sore muscles but sometimes I actually have a jerk and snap in the muscle that makes it difficult to use the limb for weeks. I have had a jerk behind my knee and even in my hip. It is very painful when it happens. It seems like a very bad cramp that has pulled the tendon or ligament.
I also have pain in my back that feels like pinching.
I was on levaquin for two weeks and had just started amoxicillin when this happened to my arm. That was two months ago.
I had not been taking anything for lyme for about 3 weeks when I started amoxi. Currently I am taking a lot of herbs but I don't know how effective they really are so I don't know what to blame this on. I could be lyme flare, herx or levequin side effect. Other than my arm and occasionally back pain, I feel fine which is wierd - in fact I feel like I am well except for this pain.

Yes! My neck (or back of head) can't tell - makes an awful snap on occassion.

It's as if a rubberband is being stretched and snapped back there.

I'm currently off all meds as my family had an intervention on my behalf -- yeah right -- and now I'm on supplements and exercise and aspirin...of which they approve.

nevermind that i can't always -- what is the word -- how should i put this --- think straight!

yes muscle snapping - is one of my worst neck symptoms - it is very scarey sometimes - I used to try not to move my neck in case it snapped!!

it is apparently tight muscles and yes it is like an elastic band.

This is one of my major symptoms (daily). Is it Lyme, is it babesia, is it candida yeast infection? Or is it all 3?

It is a beast to say the least..

Elastic band snapping in the back of my head. Haven't heard that one yet, but it sure helps describe my pain..

Thanks,
Chief

When I was young I tore a ligament in my leg and it snapped just like a broken rubber band.  That is what this is like but it is not actually broken.  My arm pain gets better and then worse but I can always get the snap when I put it in the wrong position.  The pain is very bad like being stabbed.  There are times my arm just aches especially at night.  It is very strange that elevating my upper body keeps me the most comfortable.  I don't know why that would affect my arm unless it is blood flow.  For a couple of days it felt so good I quit therapy but now it is coming back.  I can't use it or I make it worse.
I always get better - just wait it out - but this has been almost three months.

hopingtofindacure, I'm sorry your family is not understanding and supportive. I hope they are ok with herbs - you need to take something to keep the bacteria from taking over again. You need to take more than the recommended dose. I am taking 10 HH capsules daily (plus 2000mg another brand not as potent) , 70-80 drops cumanda or quina , 750mg TOA free samento, 500mg grapefruit seed extract and 4 tablets reserveratrol (forgot mg). It is divided up into several doses. I sure hope it works.
Like I said, except for the pain which I do not understand, I feel fine.

Nefferdun - Thank you so much. Back on doxy again after another recent bite. Is it okay to stop/start meds? I sure do HOPE so! Husband is okay with me going back as it's just not a good time for me to bale -- even though I had AWFUL G.I. stuff going on.

Anyways, back to the snapping, my left arm did this about ten times in a row. Elastic band across the joint. WEIRD!

What gives? (No pun intended).

Glad you're doing well on herbs. Is this the Zhang?

Thanks all and good night.

My arm continues to snap whenever I move it upwards in the wrong position. The therapist said it might be the tendon getting caught on bone so I need to strengthen the muscles supporting that area. I never had the snapping in my arm before, just behind my knee which is better. Maybe lyme weakens the tendons. Maybe it was the levaquin - who knows. My arm is getting better - ups and downs and aches at night but manageable during the day and I can use it now.

The HH capsules are Zhang. It is supposed to kill bartonella but according to
Schaller all of these herbs need to be used in much higher doses than recommended. Cumanda and Quina are Cowden. I get TOA free Samento from another company as it is cheaper and in capsules. These herbs are very good for lyme and the co-infections. Reserveratrol and grapefruit seed extract are another source. Grapefruit seed extract kills yeast and the cyst form of lyme.

Sometimes I wonder (hope) the pain I currently have is the lyme being forced out of the tissue by Grapefruit seed extract and killed by all the other herbs. I have more mental clarity, more motivation to do things, more energy, hardly ever have a muscle spasm or twitch, very few headaches. I still have bartonella skin "things" but the swelling around the tops of my ankles is less. My eyes feel better but I take a lot of hyaluronic acid for that.
I hope I am getting better.

My stomach just turned over. I haven't had this symptom..... yet. And I'm on Levaquin for the second time. I hate to think that this is what will happen next.
