Hi. I'm new and I decided to get on this forum (don't really know how it works, so be patient with me.) Anway, I have been sick for a looooonnng time. Finally got Lyme diagnoses 18 months ago. I had skin lesions all over my body, couldn't walk half the time due to the pain in my ankles, couldn't think, couldn't snap out of depression, blah, blah, blah. Tons of antibiotics and supplements. Anyway, what I am curious about is if anyone out there gets chronic skin rashes and itching even after two years of antibiotics. (My doc put me on antibiotics before she figured out I had Lyme because of my lesions. ) I still feel like bugs are crawling on me and I itch and my hand looks like I burned it. Do you guys have super sun sensitivity being on tons of anitbiotics, too? I do not want to live like a vampire, but every time I tell myself that I am going to live a normal life and not worry about sun, I get weird stuff like my pores bleeding and really red and then only my left hand gets red and itchy and now spots have gone up my arm. Does anyone deal with this? I feel like a freak.

I feel so much better in so many other ways like my energy and organizational skills are starting to come back. The pain is much better, but this skin stuff has got to go. Just wondering if anyone else deals with these specific skins problems and what they did about it.

Thanks.

I've been on antibiotics for a good part of a year and have recently noticed more sun rash issues. It is very annoying. I will notice it on my left side (arm and face) if I drive with the window even just slightly cracked. I was actually on here tonight trying to see if anyone has suggestions on the best sun block to use. Anyone? Suggestions?

My dermatolgist told me no sunblock would help. He said to wear clothes! I started wearing a hat in the car, a light white linen jacket and believe it or not, a vintage white glove. I'm like a rock star!!!!!!

Hi Tink Rox, Welcome to the forum!! Ask your doc about possible allergies to the meds. or possible yeast or fungal infections causing your skin issues. Also, the co-infection Bartonella can cause skin issues. Drugs like doxy can cause terrible reactions to the sun. Ask your doc about these things.
Best wishes for a speedy return to good health. bablymers mom

Rotten,

Baby face?  Never heard of that brand.  Where did you buy it?

Thanks,

Well, I am now interested in natural treatments because of this forum. I had never heard of Envita, so I googled it. My dr. does natural cure for other things, but not Lyme. Well, why not colloidal silver, oxygen, and hydrogen peroxide. I'm sick of these antibiotics and don't want to be on them for the rest of my natural life. I'm gonna ask her about it at my appt. tomorrow.

Hey bablymers mom. Thanks for the advice. I knew about the antibiotics that make people super sensitive to the sun and the bartonella skin infections. How helpless it feels, though. It's just hard to tell what it is. My dr. doesn't always know for certain what is what. Is it die off or side effects? That's why I am now going to look into a different way to deal with this blight.

I've heard of Babyface. I think they sell it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens. I'm gonna get some. Thanks for that RD.

You have to do like three months of therepy at Envita. Tink do you know that Lyme with alot of skin symptoms is indicative of a certain strain of borrelia burgdorferi called afzelli? But it is a european strain. Were you ever in europe?

Oh yeah and the best sunblock is Rocky mountain.
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. Yes, I've been to Europe a few times. Wow. I didn't know that. I'm going to google it. I'll ask the dr. about that tomorrow, too. I knew I'd learn alot by doing this. Are you going to Envita for certain? I wonder what I have like that in my city. Time to get researching.

I went to the store and forgot all about buying sunscreen!!! Hahaha...sound familiar anyone? I had leave the checkout twice because I forgot something. I would make a list but I forget to do that, too. Can you imagine if a bunch of us went out to lunch somewhere all together? Hahahahaha....we'd forget why we were there.

Well, I used to live in Tucson. Andy Weil has a clinic there. Maybe he treats Lyme. I met someone who is going to VA for natural treatment. I'll call her tomorrow and ask her what they're gonna do there. If I really think about what's floating around in my body, I'll get grossed out. There has to be a way to kill it. I don't think anyone wants to think about living with this for the rest of their life.

My husband got the DVD Under Our Skin. It's really an eye opener. I mean, if you have to have a disease, it's no fun having one that isn't popular. Too much politicking at the expense of people's lives.

I appreciate everyone's comments. This is really cathartic.

Rd,

I think I remember you saying that you couldn't find a dr. in the city you live in Texas. I live in the metroplex area and know of two Real drs. who will test and treat you. I don't know how to handle that kind of thing on a forum like this. I just felt like if you were struggling, I would be wrong not to try to help you.

It is maddening!! I went through hell for years and was told I needed xanax, valium, psychological help, one dr. said he didn't know what was wrong with while I was sitting in his office covered in rashes itching my butt off and lesions on my body. It is SOOOOOOO weird how they treat this disease.

RD, I thought you said you were in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. That's where I am. There are some brave people here. It makes me sad to think that you can't find someone to treat you. I'll pray for you. I really will.

I talked to my dr. today about natural cures and she said she is going to look into it for me. There's a couple of people here who are doing it to some degree. I think my teeth are turning gray from the antibiotics. I noticed in last week. Yuck. I'll be a guinea pig for hydrogen peroxide, oxygen, colloidal silver. What do I have to lose?

I'm starting to feel a kindred spirit with you guys.

even if i didnt have the hearing sisatived going i cant handle the noise of city life. been there done that. i just need a LLMD willing to move to where i live. i go a few miles either north or souths and i can do all the shoping i want. but i dont have to here anyones music when i am watching TV or trying to sleep. and my dogs wouldnt do well in a city either as my male is 132lbs. he has to have space.

haha RD.. I totally get that. I have two dogs I have to walk, which makes me exercise. One is a 120lber and the other is about 55lbs. I would actually love to have some land, a real garden, and more quiet. It's somewhat quiet here, but not serene. I'm jealous!!! You know, I saw that video Under Our Skin and there was a park ranger in it who traveled by plane to get treated. You could make trips every 6 months to get hooked up with the right meds.

As far as Envita, I don't know if anyone around here does exactly what they do, but I know they do some of it. I don't want to say too much cause I'm paranoid polly. Big cities have alterntive treatment centers. Like I said earlier, I know Andy Weil lives in Tucson. How come these guys all go to the desert? You can google Andrew Weil.

It's so late and I should be so tired. Oh yeah, I only get tired during the day now. I'm turning into a vamire.

Hey RD. I copied a link to a website for you. It's http://healthherbs.com/product.php?pid=7998. It has alot of info, but the link I pasted is for a colloidal silver generator. I know you and money are distant aquaintances right now, but I thought I'd pass it on anyway. My husband has been taking the colloidal I make and he is having a definite die off response. Now, I want to find out more about it like dosages and duration, but he is a willing guinea pig. Anyway, after you buy the generator (you can even call these people on the phone or email them. They are very knowledgable.) all you need is distilled water and a lemon to make the silver. I let mine generate alot longer that they say to, but it works on lots of stuff.

I just can't stand that someone out in the world has a curable illness and with all our resources in this country, they can't find treatment. I just thought I'd pass on what I know.

Oh by the way, my friend has used her same generator and silver bars for 10 years!!! No replacements yet.

I hope this helps you.

And ticks or no ticks, I'll take the shade trees in June anytime, my friend!!!! My furbabies agree!!!

I did look into it, but I forgot to tell my dr. Oh my gosh. What did you expect, please!!! Haha...it is very interesting about that. There are actually 3 strains I saw. The other was ginani or something? I guess Italy is infested with. Hey, my dad's family is from Italy, who knows? He doesn't have any symptoms, though. I hate to admit this, but I used to use IV drugs for fun? and that's where I probably got this. Though I have had a few tick bites, too. Lots of walking in the woods.

So if we're all vamps, why are we up. AAAAhhhh, I have to go outside and get in the car and do errands. Gotta grab the white glove!!!
