Hi kendal122,
I have recently tested positive for Ehrlichiosis, and my LLMD has me on Zithromax.

i was wondering the same thing and i didn't want to start a new thread. my doc wanted to put me on doxy but i had a very bad allergic reaction last time i took it. I am on minocycline 100mg 3 times a day for 30 days to treat ehrlichiosis.

Hi All,
We have that info in the newbies thread...and several posts below this thread - smilewinkgrin

Here's the link to the thread, but the title is "Symptoms and treatments of co-infections"

I break my posts up so that I can read them easier. I have neuro LD & the print actually dances around if the paragraphs are very long. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks, but the thread only lists doxycycline as a treatment for ehrlichiosis. I was interested because I am allergic to doxy. Good info though!

Well, I have found that on the CALDA website and in Dr. Burrascano's "Advanced Topics in LD" it is stated that rifampin "can be used in case of treatment failure".

Can you use rifampin?

i have never tried it. I don't see why not but my doctor has never brought it up. Maybe I will mention it if the minocycline fails. I am about halfway through the mino course so I will let you guys know how it turns out.

All-seeing,
I was on that size dose of Mino for a full year. That was round 1 for me & the abx won, so I had to heal & find another way.

I do hope you are doing much better!
