It seems as though I recently ran accross something saying that SSDI has kind of "fast-tracked" certain diseases/illnesses for SSDI approval.  But, I can't find "the list" now.  I know that Lyme isn't on it but, (believe it or not) I'm helping a friend fill out Medicare paperwork today.  He has Hep. C and failed the interfuron treatments.... and I think maybe this was on the "list".  It's the LD impaired leading the liver disease impaired into battle with SSDI - haha!
Does anyone have this list?  Or can you refer me to a site with the list?

Think this is what you're looking for.  Hope it helps!
A couple of years ago I'd never have thought I'd have to know where this kind of info is.  Guess it's a reminder of what a downhill slide it's been.
