I had a Bicillin injection yesterday and today am having very bad pain at the injections site- in the muscle-- Has anyone had these routinely? I can't imagine ever getting one again-- they had wanted to move me on to them when I come off IV (Claforan) treatment. I'll try ice......

When I was doing bicillin injections my husband would inject very slowly..and I mean taking 3-5 minutes each time. I was doing them 3 times a week and never had any muscle pain or any kind of pain from them. We did mix lidocaine with the bicillin and maybe that also helped.

I would walk around for at least 30 minutes after the injection and massage the area to make sure it was all dispersed. Hopefully this helps you. I had them for almost 4 months and would have continued if they had helped me.

I tried two of these and that was all I could take. The pain lasted for weeks.

I was given a prescription for lidocaine cream to rub on one hour BEFORE each injection. It helped in that the shot itself was not so painful. However, I stopped the injections as I couldn't take the pain after and believe me I have a very high threshold for pain.. Blessings
